"I am writing to
bring to your attention the exceptional work of two of
Pace Law School's third-year students, [who] have
worked diligently over the past months to produce
legal actions that may ultimately save my life. . . .
At the time I first met [the lawyers], the probability
of winning my case appeared extremely remote. From the
outset, [the interns'] enthusiasm and articulate
presentation helped rekindle my nearly extinguished
hope. . . . As part of an extraordinary team effort of
doctors, lawyers, hospital administrators, and yes,
even finally Medicaid administrators, [the interns'] .
. . secured funding for my treatment. What appeared
virtually hopeless, without precedent, four months
ago, now has been legally secured. . . . [The interns]
showed deep compassion without losing professional
objectivity, and a degree of tenderness that still,
today, resonates within my heart."

"I would like to express my
sincere appreciation to you and the student attorneys
who worked on my claim against [my brokerage firm]. I am very pleased that we were able to
settle the case without going to arbitration and feel
that the financial remuneration was fair and
equitable. Please communicate my heartfelt
appreciation to all who worked on my case."
"I know that you and the student
attorneys spent an incredible amount of time and
energy to settle this case, and I am well aware that I
would not have had the chance of getting any
reparation from [my brokerage firm] without the assistance of John Jay
Legal Services. Your Clinic provides an
invaluable service to people like myself who are
unable to retain an attorney either due to lack of
funds or because the size of their case is not
large enough to make it feasible to retain outside
legal counsel.
Many thanks for a job well done!"
-Small
investor, whose retirement account was depleted by a
well-known brokerage firm.
"I would like to express the full
measure of my appreciation to the students of GULP
(Greater Upstate Law Project) at Pace
University.
For more than a year I was struggling to receive my
Oath of Allegiance from Immigration and Naturalization
Service. I appealed for help to some high authority
officials including NY senators, congress woman, etc.
Many prominent high authority officials tried to help
me, however, INS simply ignored their efforts. I
couldn't even receive any information on the status of
my case
Fortunately, a month ago I received
the name and address of GULP, from the Governor George
Pataki. I was impressed by the friendly reception,
however I was much more impressed at how they forced
the INS to find my lost case which INS couldn't find
for more than one year. Just yesterday I received the
invitation to the Oath of Allegiance ceremony.
Students of Pace University Law School
accomplished in one month more than the officials
could not accomplish for one year! I greatly
appreciate the help of the students who are working
for GULP. I especially appreciate (Prof's names) who
were handling my case. I wish Pace a bright and
prosperous future."
-GULP successfully
expedited naturalization process.
"Please be advised that I
received your letter along with a copy of my motion. I
read it and thought it was very well put together. How
can I extend my sincerest gratitude for the dedication
and effort all of you took the time out to place in
for me."
"I even shared it with my mother
who's sick with cancer, and she to was jolly about it.
So was my wife and kids who all hope and pray I be
bless to remain in the United States for support in
every aspect a son, husband, and father can give.
Thank you so much! and yes! I understand that it's not
over yet. Still, I thank you and your staff for your
time, patience, efforts, care, and concerns to see
that I remain at liberty with my family here in
the U.S. once parole, bless and reward you all a 1000
times over."
