Center for Community Action & Research

Our  mission is to enrich the educational experiences of students, faculty, and staff in a manner that is consistent with Pace’s mission to cultivate tomorrow’s leaders and citizens for active participation in the larger life of their communities, the nation, and the world. CCAR coordinates Pace University’s participation in several national civic engagement initiatives. Pace University is a founding member of Project Pericles, a Jefferson Awards Champion, a Carnegie Foundation Community Engagement designee since 2006, and is on the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll.

The Pipeline Project

Partnerships at LGBT organizations are available through the Pipeline Project.  If you are a student of color looking for a meaningful summer internship at a lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender organization please contact Andy Garcia at agarcia@lgbtpipeline.org to learn how you can apply. Interns get an unparalleled chance to learn about non-profit leadership in national, state-based, and local LGBT advocacy and direct service organizations. You will have the opportunity to design and complete important projects while supporting and enhancing your long-term goals as activists and workers for LGBT equality. Internships are available in the following cities: -Albany, NY -Austin, TX -Baltimore, MD -Boston, MA -Columbus, OH -Denver, CO, Madison, WI -Minneapolis, MN -New York, NY -Philadelphia, PA -Portland, OR Raleigh, NC -Salt Lake City, UT -San Francisco, CA -Washington, DC. Time period:  May 23-August 14, 201, Hours per week: Approximately 30, Stipend: $3,000 for the ten week period. Other paid and unpaid internship opportunities are also available.
