Safe Zone Trainings, Department & Student Group Consultations
The Offices of Multicultural Affairs & the LGBTQA & Social Justice Center offer Safe Zone trainings for students, staff, and faculty throughout the year. Safe Zone consists of an in-depth workshop to help participants better understand the needs and concerns of the LGBTQ community. These trained allies are visible supporters and advocates for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning members of the Pace community. Further the LGBTQA & Social Justice Center Provides consultations for departments on campus in relation to LGBTQA issues & best practices. Bathroom Equity Training, NYC
This workshop will explore gender equity in relation to equal and safe access to public restrooms and accommodations. According to the 2011 Report on Transgender Discrimination, 52% of respondents reported being verbally harassed or disrespected in a place of public accommodation. This workshop will present some of the realities experienced by transgender and gender non conforming individuals in public facilities. The workshop will present opportunities for allies to advocate on behalf of all individuals ability to have safe access to public accommodations at Pace and beyond.
