Welcome to the Pace Library
Pace University Library, as in many peer academic institutions, continues to serve as the main repository of that organized knowledge that universities strive to preserve and maintain for their community of users. Our Library is a multi-campus system that is comprised of the Birnbaum Library on the NYC campus, the Mortola Library in Pleasantville, the Graduate Center Library- a satellite operation in White Plains - and the Law School Library, which operates under the Law School Administration , also in White Plains, New York.
The University Library, ever cognizant of the diverse needs of learners and of evolving trends in research and learning, has continuously subjected itself to rigorous assessment of what it means to be a relevant partner of the University in providing the optimum environment where information services and resources contributing to users’ learning as well as scholarly and professional growth are achieved.
Over the years, Pace University Library has continuously adapted itself to the changing demands of users, and adopted new models of services perceived to be necessary to the demands of new pedagogies of learning. The University Library has always striven to insure that these various learners find what they need across a complex platform of technologies and services useful to learning, research, and scholarship.

The University Library has about 630,000 volumes in the collection with a current circulation transaction of about 100,000 for the last year. It has an electronic reserves systems with about 69,000 hits to its 20,333 existing documents representing some 1,311 course pages. Its digital repository has more than 1.8 million downloads showing researchers’ interest in its more than 4,000 Open Access documents. Its reference and instructional services have so far provided some 27,000 individual and group consultations and presentations for last year alone. There are about 128 different databases representing a collection of periodical titles numbering into the hundreds of thousands and accessed most actively by the university community.
The University Library is committed to providing cutting edge technology as well as pioneering instructional and informational resources as a form of service commitment that aspires to provide the highest quality of service to its users. Accordingly, our mission statement provides a directional blueprint to guide us in all our planning, implementation, and assessment activities.
