DESCRIPTION

Daily Life Through History gives a detailed portrayal of what life was like for ordinary people in different cultures throughout history. At the heart of this database are the 27 volumes of the Daily Life Through History series from Greenwood Press and the six volume Greenwood Encyclopedia of Daily Life.

Also included in this online database are related books from Praeger Press, related reference works from Greenwood Press, and related primary source documents. Teacher lesson plans, correlated to the National Center for History in the Schools standards are another valuable resource available via this database.

You may browse by Time Period, Region, or Subject. Click on the Time Period, Region, or Subject as shown above to select it. Once you have made a selection, the next screen will include more browseable headings.

-Time Periods include: the Anicent World, the Medieval World, 15th & 16th Centuries (1400s & 1500s), 17th & 18th Centuries (1600s & 1700s), 19th Century (1800s), and the Modern World.

-Regions include: North America, Latin America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and Oceania. (Scroll over these regions on the map and the names will appear.

-Subjects include: Domestic Life, Economic Life, Intellectual Life, Material Life, Political Life, Recreational Life, and Religious Life.


ADVANCED SEARCHING

The advanced searching option allows you to combine limits by time period, region, and subject all in one search. You can also add keyword(s) to your search.
