Locate Books

Use the Pace Library Catalog to locate books, journals and other materials owned by the Pace Library and available for delivery between all campus library locations: Mortola Library (PLV), Birnbaum Library (PNY), Law Library (WP) and Graduate Center Library (WP). For help searching the Library Catalog, refer to our online Help Guide.

NEW - SPRING 2006 Search and request books from a consortium of academic libraries in New York State using Connect NY. After searching the Pace Library Catalog, if you do not find what you are looking for, search other academic libraries using the Connect NY button. Items can be requested using a similar procedure as requesting items from within the Pace Library system and the book will be delivered to the Circulation Desk at your home campus library in 2 to 3 business days. Keep an eye out for Connect NY when searching the Pace Library Catalog this Spring!

BasicBIOSIS
This database contains records from 375 core life-science journals starting from 1994. Most of these journals are easily found in college and university libraries. This database is updated monthly and provides the citation of the article. An abstract of the article may also be available.

BioDigest
This database provides records from 181 non-technical digests of journals starting from 1989. The subjects included are biology, ecology & health. This database is updated 9 times a year and provides the citation of the article. An abstract of the article may also be available.

Acquire items to which we do not have immediate access

Interlibrary Loan
Available to members of the Pace University community who hold a valid Pace ID card. We will attempt to obtain any item that is not owned by the Pace University Library, including books, articles, research papers, dissertations, government documents, and more, free of charge. (In rare cases there will be a charge for a loan, but we will process this request only with the requestor’s approval.)

ILLiad is the name of our primary Interlibrary Loan system. Each user creates a personal profile, and places and tracks their requests online.

Books are borrowed for a limited period of time, and the length of the loan period – usually 4-6 weeks – is determined by the lending library.

Articles (photocopies from journals and magazines) or chapters from books can also be requested through ILL. It takes anywhere from one day to 2 or 3 weeks to obtain the items. Delivery methods vary: you may pick up the article at the Library, or choose electronic delivery via ILLiad, or ask us to email you the articles.
