Standard & Poor's Stock Guide in the NetAdvantage database
Data on over 10,000 common and preferred stocks - 20 minute delayed quotes and charts. Included are the company’s principal business, financial position, S&P rankings, earning trends and capitalization. Updated monthly. Also included in NetAdvantage is The Outlook, "the premier weekly investment advisory newsletter that identifies and analyzes trends and developments affecting stock performance, with specific buy/sell/hold recommendations from Standard & Poor’s analysts and equity researchers," as well as S & P Stock Reports, "unequaled decision-making resource on over 5,500 publicly-traded companies. Featuring S&P’s STARS* rankings, statistics, projections and incisive analysis, a four (4) year stock chart, 10 years of income statements and balance sheets, EPS estimates data from I/B/E/S, industry data, and more. Key data and significant events updated weekly."
 
Mergent
Company financial data, industry and company ratios, annual reports and more. Historical financials available as far back as 10-15 years, depending on the company.
Nice feature:
create a list of companies and compare data (ratios, financials) across your "Company Analysis List."
The Value Line Investment Survey
Contains one-page reports on approximately 1,700 companies and more than 90 industries. Brief overviews of an industry and its performance, and detailed analysis of major players in the industry. To access subscription data, click "Logon" in the upper left hand corner. Pace University subscribes to the "The Value Line Investment Survey online—Standard Edition." Upon entering the Standard Edition, use the Lookup Company button on the left to search for a particular company.
 
Zacks
In the RESEARCH area, search by ticker to access company reports, stock quotes, financial data and ratios - use the "Comparison to Industry" option to see your company compared to the industry.
Nice feature:
create a portfolio and receive daily email updates on the contents of your portfolio.
 
Business & Company Resource Center
Go to the Advanced Search screen. In the "Content Area" menu, select Investment Reports, then enter your search terms in the boxes below. NOTE: These can be very long reports, some of which have Table of Contents links, and some which do not.

Industry Surveys provide "Key Industry Ratios and Statistics," as well as Profit Ratios, Balance Sheet Ratios, and Equity Ratios.
Almanac of Business and Industrial Financial Ratios - Ref Desk HF 5681 R25 T68
Provides 50 performance indicators for 192 industries. Companies with and without Net Income are included, in separate tables. Indicators are reported not only for all companies in an industry, but also broken down by asset size groups.

Dun & Bradstreet’s Industry Norms & Key Business Ratios- Ref Desk HC 106 .7 .D86x
This publication provides "typical" balance sheets and income statements, and "common-size" financial figures, as well as Key Business Ratios. Norms and ratios allow for a quick check between one's own company and that company's line of business, or industry. (For latest data, ask a librarian - newest edition is at the Birnbaum Library at PNY)

From the United States Department of Commerce - provides various financial and economic data from throughout the federal government and other related entities, including the Consumer Price Index, Producer Price Index, Gross Domestic Product, Selected Interest Rates, Foreign Exchange Rates and more.
County and City Data Book - Ref HA 202 .A36 (Click on the link for the online edition in PDF format.)
Includes economic and demographic information on counties and cities in the U.S. It also includes manufacturing, construction, agriculture, wholesale and retail trade, transportation and warehousing, information and utilities industry data.
