ERIC - The ERIC (Educational Resources Information Center) database consists of two distinct components: The Current Index to Journals in Education and Resources in Education. The Current Index to Journals in Education indexes over 980 journals dealing with the field of education. Journal articles are identified with an EJ prefix in the ERIC number. Resources in Education makes available indexing, abstracting and full-text of non-jouirnal education documents (including curriculum guides, instructional materials, research reports, opinion papers, conference proceedings, project and program descriptions, bibliographies, and test and measurement instruments), which have the prefix ED in the ERIC number. If the ERIC Document you are looking for is NOT available inthe ERIC database, please use the ILLIAD Interlibrary Loan system to request the item, and we can get it for you from another library in the area.
Education Abstracts - More than 400 English-language periodicals and yearbooks published in the U.S. and elsewhere. Subjects include administration, teaching methods and curriculum, literacy, government funding, and more. June 1983 to the present. Updated monthly Fulltext for this database is available through OMNIFile (another library database).

Mental Measurements Yearbook - This is from the Buros Institute. It contains descriptive information and critical reviews of more that 2,000 commercially available standardized English-language educational, personality, aptitude, neuropsychological, achievement and intelligence tests. It is a resource to locate and evaluate testing instruments.
PsycINFO - The PsycINFO database includes references and summaries for journal articles, books, book chapters, and technical reports published worldwide, and references to dissertations. Over 1,300 journals in more than 30 languages and English-language books are represented in the database. Unrivaled in its depth of coverage in psychology, the database is enriched with literature from an array of related disciplines, such as education, pharmacology, physiology, linguistics, anthropology, business, medicine, nursing, law, and social work. Covers 1887- present.

Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD) http://www.ascd.org - This site has a reading room in which you can view journals, chapters of books, recent newsletters, as well as options to explore curriculum handbooks and topic packs among other items. A keyword search is available, resulting in a list of documents on the website that might include any of the item listed above.
National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) http://nctm.org - The home page of the NCTm starts with News and Hot Topics which currently includes links for their E-resources and the online version of the Principles and Standards called the E-Standards. You also have a keyword search on the site but remember to use quotes when searching for a phrase!
National Council for the Social Studies (NCSS) http://www.ncss.org - This site will give you limited information on the NCSS Standards for Excellence in Social Studies. There is a lot of information that is limited to members only and the keyword search automatically puts a Boolean OR between your terms.
National Science Teachers Association (NSTA) http://www.nsta.org - From the NSTA home page you will find information focused on particular grade levels from elementary to college. There are Teacher Resources which will lead you to the online journals. Some of these articles will be available online and some are restricted to members.
International Reading Association (IRA) http://www.reading.org/ - Press releases, New Stories and special dates are listed on the IRA home page. There are links to many online resources such as Topics in Focus which includes pages of links on a particular topic within the IRA web. The Position statements within this area will be very helpful in describing the Association's views.
National Council of Teachers of English http://www.ncte.org - You may sign up for a number of e-mail lists on different topics through the Teacher Talk link. The site also Teaching Ideas which can be searched even if you are not a member. Journals are restricted to the membership. The search on the site puts a Boolean "AND" in between the words so you will not be able to search for a phrase.
National Association of School Psychologists http://www.nasponline.org/index2.html - There are lots of resources available on this site, but some are restricted to members. You will need to use your mouse to see what is in each topic and find your way around or use the imbedded Google Search engine with quotes around phrase searches.
CARN http://www.did.stu.mmu.ac.uk/carn/ - The Collaborative Action Research Network web site has limited information, but provides links to other Web sites.
CARPP http://www.bath.ac.uk/carpp/ - This site has some papers and publications available. There is a link to the ActionResource.net under the webpages, which has information from several theses and many other web pages that you might find helpful.
Networks http://education.ucsc.edu/faculty/gwells/networks/ - Networks is an online journal for teacher research. The full text of articles is available as well as a discussion forum. There are tips on how to navigate the web site, but no search capabilities.
Action Research International http://www.scu.edu.au/schools/gcm/ar/ari/arihome.html - This refereed online journal focuses on Action Research. Full text articles are available for your browsing pleasure.
