To find books
in the catalog, start with a Keywords Search for the Title of your
movie. You may also want to try a Keyword search for the type of movie
(ie western) AND motion picture.
The Library
of Congress Subject Headings that the catalog uses are:
DATABASES
A look at
the Full text Motion Pictures Periodicals offerings through the library
catalog suggests a number of databases you might want to try.
Academic
Search Premier and Research
Library are both general databases that contain
several of the film industry publications as well as general newspapers
that might have reviews.
You can also
search some of our Literature databases such as MLA
Bibliography (through LION), JSTOR,
Project
Muse, and Literature
Resource Center. Remember these databases will also
have information on the original written work if the movie was based
on a book. You can search by movie title, actor names, director, or
genre to find resources.
To find an
original movie review, try the New
York Times Archive database. Limit the
dates to the year that the movie first played and possibly the year
before for criticism and expectations for the fim opening.

You can find reviews on this site by entering all or part of the title
in the search box. They also have a pull down list of types of films,
film festival titles, and other categories that you can browse.
There is another
