Remote Access
To gain remote access to restricted resources, Pace University students must use
their Pace E-Mail account. Select the database you are interested
in to activate the Remote Access login page. Select Student and
enter your Pace University E-mail username (without @pace.edu)
and password. If you have forgotten your Pace University E-Mail username,
you can look it up by accessing Student
E-mail Address Lookup. Remote Access is available to current
Pace University students only.
Remote
Access Instructions provide detailed instructions on gaining remote access to the Pace Library's
resources and services.
NOTE: You
still require your library barcode to access other library services!

utilizing chat, email, or telephone.

you must enter a library barcode. To obtain a library barcode, please send a request to barcodes@pace.edu.

these materials, go to Reserves.
Your professor will provide the password required to access the materials
for your class.

to your home. Use the Pace University

To place
your request, click on the Request button at the top of the screen

and barcode number in the appropriate boxes.

student and to provide your mailing address.

The Circulation
period for distance education students is 4 weeks with a 2 weeks renewal.

Library Catalog. Overdue fines are 10 cents per day with a maximum
fine of $5.00 per book. Lost book fee is $60.00 per book.
A mailing
label will be sent to you with the book - use this label to return
the book to the Pace Library before the due date to prevent
fines on your library record. We strongly recommend that you use U.S. Postal
Service Priority Mail to return the book. Returned books must be insured
for $100 in case of loss.

item is available in a full-text database, you can link directly
to that database to obtain a copy of your article.

delivery method information in the "Special Instructions" box.
Click on the Submit

NOTE: If you have indicated your e-mail address, you will receive
articles through the Digital Sender that scans the document and
sends it via e-mail in PDF format. Click on the link with "Binary Attachment" to access
the article. Digital Sender will be used for articles Pace University
Library has in its collection.
Interlibrary Loan Services
ILLiad, InterLibrary Loan Internet Accessible Database, allows you to
request books, journal articles, proceedings, or government documents,
not owned by Pace University Library.
Benefits of using ILLiad are:
- Registration is required only once to access ILLiad.
- Providing your email and mailing address, ensures prompt notification
and accurate delivery of materials when they arrive in the library.
- ILLiad allows you to track the status of your requests.
- ILLiad allows you to view a list of items you have requested in the past.
For detailed information about ILLiad, access ILLiad Services FAQ.
Be certain to read the Copyright Notice as the library and university
will not be held accountable for the misuse of materials provided.
When registering
in the ILLiad system be sure to select Distance Ed Students from the
"Status" drop-down menu to identify yourself. This ensures that materials
requested are delivered via email, fax, or regular mail. On-campus
students pick up their materials at the delivery location specified.
Books
Books NOT owned by the Pace University Library may be requested
through Interlibrary
Loan.
Once
you enter your Username and Password, click the Request a Book
button to request books, entire conference proceedings, microfilm reels,
and microfiche.
Fill all the
necessary information in the Loan Request form and then click Submit
Request.
NOTE: It will take time for a lending library to send us the materials you need, and then for us to
send it to you. It could take up to three weeks for an item to get to you,
from the time of your original request to the time you receive it. So be
sure to take this into consideration when making your Interlibrary Loan
book requests. Lending circulation periods and renewals are controlled
by the lending library.
A
mailing label will be sent to you with the book - use this
label to return the book to the Pace University Library before the
due date to prevent fines on your library record. We will return
the book to the lending library for you. We strongly recommend that you
use U.S. Postal Service Priority Mail to return the book. Returned books
must be insured for $100 in case of loss.
Check with your local public library or a university library near you
for items not owned by the Pace University Library. It may be quicker
to obtain items from a local source rather than going through the
Library's Interlibrary Loan Service. However, if you cannot find an
item at a location near you or if it is simply not convenient for you
to do so, our Interlibrary Loan staff is here to help you.
Articles
Articles from journals, magazines and newspapers NOT owned by the
Pace University Library may be requested using
Interlibrary
Loan.
Fill in the
specific information for the article you are requesting.
ILLiad electronic
delivery option allows you to receive requested articles online. The
requestor is notified that the requested article is now available for viewing.
An article may be viewed for a period of 30 days after which it becomes inaccessible.
To take advantage of this feature, be certain to select Yes for the
entry, "Would you prefer Electronic Delivery if Possible?" in the New
User Registration for ILLiad form.
Click the Submit Information button
to submit your request.
Document Delivery Services
The library-subsidized Document Delivery Services,
CISTI/Source, serve as a convenient alternative to InterLibrary Loan. Requested
articles are sent directly from the service to the requestor without the
intervention of a library staff. To use
CISTI/Source, you
MUST send
a request for an account; you can send an email to any of the Account Request
locations provided, just indicate that you're a distant education student.
