Remote Database Access

There are two ways for current Pace University faculty, staff and students to gain remote access to restricted resources such as library databases and the Pace Intranet (IPN):
    • Dial into Pace to get your Internet access
      • A Pace dialup account can be obtained by contacting the User Services department on your campus. Note: If you are using a Pace dialup account you will be connected to restricted resources such as library databases automatically.

      OR

    • Use a private Internet Service Provider in combination with the new Remote Database Access (RDA) system via the Web.
      •
        To use RDA:
        1. Cookies must be enabled on your web browser to use the RDA system. This is a default setting, if you have not changed this, you should be all set. (Note for AOL users: You should now use the AOL default web browser when accessing the library databases remotely. It is no longer necessary to use a separate Netscape window.)
        2. Go to the Pace University Library Homepage at http://library.pace.edu
        3. Click on Databases,
        4. When prompted, enter the last six digits of your library barcode.
          Library Card!
          • For example, you would enter 501236
               5. Click on the name of the database that you are interested in and begin your search.

    • If you have trouble using the RDA system, please consult our Remote Access Troubleshooting Page

      •
    • Please note that the Library Proxy Server has been shut off. If you have used the proxy server previously, click here for instructions on disabling your proxy settings.
