Education: Professor Charles holds the following credentials: MA in Nursing Education from Pace University and BSN from Hunter College-Bellevue School of Nursing. She is currently enrolled in the Doctor of Education program with a concentration in Nursing Education at Nova Southeastern University.
Areas of Expertise: community health nursing/home care, medical-surgical nursing, evidence-based practice, and advocacy for families of the developmentally disabled.
Professional Experience: Professor Charles joined the Lienhard School of Nursing faculty as a clinical instructor in the Combined Degree Program in 2010. She began her career in 1983 in the neurology area at Elmhurst Hospital then spent ten years at the Roosevelt Division of the St. Luke’s/Roosevelt Hospital working in med-surg, intensive care, and the post anesthesia care unit. For the past eighteen years, she’s worked for the Visiting Nurse Service of New York Home Care as field, coordinator of care, and team facilitator.
