Education: Professor McCarthy holds the following degrees: MS, FNP (Nursing) from Pace University, NY; MA (Physiology in Cardiac Rehabilitation and Adult Fitness from Adelphi University, NY); BS (Nursing) from Binghamton University. She is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in nursing at New York University.

Professor McCarthy is currently teaching medical-surgical clinical courses in both the RN4 and the CDP program.
 
Professional Experience:  Professor McCarthy has been a full time Clinical Instructor of LSN, Pace University since 2004. Currently, she is also working as a Per Diem FNP in MinuteClinic, a retail based walk-in clinic. From 2000 to 2004, she was an Adjunct Clinical Instructor specific to Medical-Surgical Nursing and in the Nursing Practice Lab at Lehman College from 1995 to 2003. From 1988 to 1992 she was a Clinical Physiologist functioning in Cardiac Rehabilitation and Stress Testing at Montefiore Medical Center. Professor McCarthy began her nursing career working as Staff Nurse at Winthrop University Hospital in the Medical-Surgical Unit.
