Education: Professor Stokes holds the following credentials: EdD and M.Ed (both Curriculum & Teaching) from Columbia University Teachers College, New York, NY; MS (Teaching) and BSN (Nursing) from The Ohio State University School of Nursing, Columbus, OH; Diploma (Nursing) from St. Luke School of Nursing, Cleveland, OH.
 

Areas of Expertise: pathophysiology, gerontology, medical surgical nursing, online teaching, and nursing education.

 

Professor Stokes is currently teaching undergraduate fundamentals gerontology, and pathophysiology as well as graduate pathophysiology courses.

 

Professional Experience:  Shirlee Stokes is currently a professor teaching in the undergraduate and graduate programs in the LSN, Pace University. She joined LSN as Associate Dean and Professor in 1977. From 1986 to 1994 she held the titles of: Associate Dean, Acting Dean, and Vice Dean for Undergraduate Education. Professor Stokes has been teaching since 1966. Before coming to Pace, she taught at Case Western Reserve University-Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing, Lehman College CUNY, and Columbia University. Professor Stokes entered her nursing career in 1963 as Staff Nurse at The Ohio State Tuberculosis Hospital.
