NYC Marathon

Kconforti

Kristin Conforti, a Lienhard School of Nursing junior, ran in the New York City Marathon on November 1, finishing the race in three hours, 40 minutes, and 12 seconds. She ran to raise awareness and funds for lung cancer in honor of her uncle, who died last year of the disease.  “Lung cancer is not just a smoker’s disease,” said Conforti.  “My uncle was only 58, healthy, and quit smoking 25 years ago.”

A self-described “goal-oriented, over-achiever” who wants to make a difference, Conforti has been training daily for the marathon. She hopes to run more races in the future, and says, “Enough is never enough for me.”

Conforti aspires to one day work in the OR, pediatrics, or perhaps for a professional athletic team.
