Prizes

The Helene and Grant Wilson Social Venture Prize
A $25,000 cash prize will be awarded to the winner of the Social Venture category. The prize money must be used to help build the Social Venture presented at the Sixth Annual Pace Pitch Contest. Prize money will be distributed as follows:

  • January: a $10,000 payment made after winning the Social Venture category in December 2009;
  • April 2010: a $5,000 payment made after receiving a progress report in March 2010;
  • August 2010: a $5,000 payment made after receiving a progress report in July 2010;
  • December 2010: a $5,000 payment made after receiving a progress report in November 2010.
The New Business Concept Prize
A $25,000 cash prize will be awarded to the winner of the New Business Concept category. The prize money must be used to help build the New Business Concept presented at the Sixth Annual Pace Pitch Contest. Prize money will be distributed as follows:

  • January: a $10,000 payment made after winning the New Business Concept category in December 2009;
  • April 2010: a $5,000 payment made after receiving a progress report in March 2010;
  • August 2010: a $5,000 payment made after receiving a progress report in July 2010;
  • December 2010: a $5,000 payment made after receiving a progress report in November 2010.
The TechSpace, Inc. Prize
One pitch, from either the Social Venture or New Business Concept category, will be awarded six months of office space leasing in one of TechSpace's facilities. This prize is valued at $15,000.

The MIT Enterprise Forum of New York City Innovative Technology Prize
A $2,500 cash prize will be awarded to the pitch that is judged to have the most innovative technology. The prize money will be distributed shortly after the Sixth Annual Pace Pitch Contest and is intended to help the winner develop the technology presented. One winner will be selected from either the Social Venture or New Business Concept category.

Pace University reserves the right to disqualify, at its sole discretion, any individual or team from the competition at any time (before or after the Pitch Contest or the award of any prize) for any reason. Reasons for disqualification may include, but are not limited to, misrepresentations in the application process, plagiarism, infringement of the intellectual property of others, and any failure to comply with the rules of the competition. Disqualified individuals or teams shall forfeit any and all prizes awarded to them.
