The Lubin Marketing Department, unlike competitive schools in our metro market, offers students a wonderful experiential learning opportunity on both the NYC campus and the Pleasantville campus - The Interactive Direct Marketing (IDM) Lab

Graduates who experienced this program have begun careers in various aspects of marketing and are on their way to becoming leaders in the marketing industry. Thanks to the opportunities provided by this student run Marketing Agency these graduates have gained experience and knowledge that made them better prepared to lead in this industry than if they had not had that experience.

Students work without credit or compensation to take on leadership roles in marketing projects for small business entities who cannot afford to use a Direct Marketing Advertising Agency and other student learning enhancement challenges like the “IDM Lab Lunch and Learn Series” in both the fall and spring semesters.

The IDM Lab works with small businesses as well as various University departments to help them develop marketing opportunities.

The IDM Lab programs for students and faculty are not financed by the University but are funded by generous gifts from donors who understand the impact of this program and the growth opportunity it gives our students to become leaders in the Direct Marketing Industry. The gifts provide the student leaders with scholarships that will be rewarded to deserving students and funds research programs and faculty teaching enhancement programs so that Lubin can provide the best opportunities for our Direct and Interactive Marketing Studies program.

The IDM Lab Marketing Internship is a one-of-a-kind, Pace exclusive, student-run Direct and Interactive marketing agency provided by the Lubin School of Business Marketing Department, open to all levels and all majors. This internship has also been approved for undergraduate or graduate credit; students who meet the qualifications to take this internship can earn academic credit for work. For credit, interns will complete Lab projects assigned, participate as a team member of the IDM Lab, and write a paper recapping the experiences learned. To be considered for the internship, students must have the ability to work well under minimum supervision, meet deadlines, and effectively manage both work and school. Lab projects will encompass the gamut of activities from research to development of strategies and creative marketing messages through to the execution of strategies throughout media. Interns will be given the opportunity to apply all the skills they have learned while in school to real life, real-time marketing challenges for small and large business clients. Interns will also have the opportunity to attend free seminars and meetings with industry specialists outside of Pace, along with meeting the professor who is the head of IDM Lab and internship mentor.
