U.S.News Ranks Pace Among Top Five in the US, #1 in Metro New York for Internships
Pace University is among the top five schools in the U.S. and #1 in metro New York for internship placement according to U.S.News & World Report's "Short List." This is a regular series that magnifies individual data points to provide students and parents a way to find which undergraduate or graduate programs excel in specific areas. The new ranking highlights ten national universities with the highest percentage of 2011 graduates who worked as interns during their undergraduate studies. Pace does have the largest co-op and internship program in the region, transforming students into job-ready professionals.

  [Lubin Finance Programs Recognized By CFA Institute and GARP]
The CFA Institute recently welcomed the Lubin School of Business into their University Recognition Program. Entry into the program signals to potential students, employers, and the marketplace that the Lubin curriculum is closely tied to professional practice and is well-suited to preparing students to sit for the three levels of CFA examinations. The Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP) has welcomed the MS in Investment Management program into the Partnership for Risk Education, as a GARP Academic Partner. The partnership is a framework through which interested academic institutions can assess whether their risk management offerings are aligned with global industry needs and best practices.

[New, Expanded CCRP Cycle Starts in February 2013]  
New, Expanded CCRP™ Cycle Starts in February 2013
The Association of International Bank Auditors (AIBA) and the Lubin School of Business at Pace University have created a joint six-month premier certificate program for bank compliance professionals - the Certified Compliance and Regulatory Professional (CCRP™). The new and expanded CCRP™ program starts February 28, 2013. This six-month program with 20 three-hour sessions adds two new modules on securities law and consumer protection law, and addresses the need for a well-recognized, comprehensive international compliance credential. Next MFP Cycle Begins in February 2013
Today's financial market difficulties can be a silver lining for moving ahead in your career. Lubin's Masters in Finance for Professionals (MFP) program is specially designed for people already working in finance or those wanting to enter the field who need to update their knowledge and skills within a practical framework. There's still time to enroll in the 36-credit MS program, which combines online study with weekend residencies. Classes begin February 21, 2013, and the GMAT is not required. NACD Says "Watch Dean Braun"
The National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) has named Dean Neil Braun one of the "People to Watch" in 2012. He was selected based on his influential leadership in the boardroom and commitment to uphold the highest standards and best practices in corporate governance. Dean Braun serves on the boards of IMAX Corporation; Share Our Strength, a national anti-hunger organization; and the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center.

The Lubin Luncheon was a celebration of Lubin's special relationship with the accounting profession and recognition of our alumni at the Big Four. The Luncheon was held on Friday, December 7, 2012, at One Chase Manhattan Plaza. Proceeds from the luncheon are used to provide important scholarship funding to Lubin students and to support special projects selected by the Dean to enhance Lubin's competitive standing with other leading business schools.

Ernst & Young Scholarship Winners Announced
Students Laura Schmitt, Gabriella Gonzalez, Vito Delberti, Renee Bluszcz and Christina Rufo from the Pleasantville campus and Sazma Shameem, Yuan Gai, Kristhy Jimenez, Umesh Patel, and Domingo Rodriguez from the New York City campus, were recent recipients of the Ernst & Young Scholarship award. The Ernst & Young Fund for Excellence in Accounting Education provides scholarship awards of $5,000 each to outstanding Lubin students in a qualified undergraduate or graduate accounting program. Ernst & Young LLP established the scholarship fund in 2010 to promote educational excellence in accounting at Pace.

[Lubin Student Wins Direct Marketing Association Scholarship]  
Our congratulations go out to Monica Kolodziej, junior marketing major and co-manager of the New York City campus Interactive and Direct Marketing Lab, who won the Hudson Valley Direct Marketing Association's (HVDMA) Laura Smith Scholarship. The scholarship is presented to degree candidates in the Direct and Interactive Marketing Program at the Lubin School of Business who are self-paying for education (not reimbursed by employer). French Finance Students Visit Bloomberg Headquarters
The Center for Global Business Programs runs a custom finance program where French students spend one semester at Lubin, taking three finance courses and a course in American Business Practices. As part of the program, the cohort of French students visited the Bloomberg headquarters, and attended a special lecture dealing with the role of corporate governance in banking, delivered by Professors John James and Ned Lewis. This program is comprised of 15 students from Rouen Business School and three students from Reims Management School who are pursuing a French master's degree at their home schools.

Some people collect stamps and some collect coins. Hearst Magazines' marketing president and publishing director, Michael Clinton, MBA '83, is a collector of countries (at 122 and counting!). The Globetrotter Diaries will be published in January and is Clinton's first-hand account of many of his travel highlights with tips from colleagues and friends as well.
