| Paul Sarbanes, coauthor of the famed Sarbanes/Oxley Act, which revolutionized accounting standards, will keynote Lubin's First Annual Accounting Conference, on April 26, 2007. In addition, Robert Herz, chairman of the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB), and Tom Jones, vice chairman of the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB), will be featured keynote interviews. The conference will be held in midtown Manhattan and the theme is "Convergence in Global Financial Reporting and Corporate Governance: Charting a Course for the Future." >> more info |

Deloitte Vice Chairman to Receive Lubin's Highest Honor Jack Ribeiro, BBA '78, vice chairman - managing partner, National & Global Financial Services Industry, Deloitte & Touche USA LLP, will be the honoree at the 15th Annual Lubin Alumni Achievement Award Luncheon on December 7, 2007, at the JPMorganChase executive banquet hall in downtown New York City. A committed alumnus, Ribeiro serves as a trustee of Pace University, and has played a leadership role in cultivating a strong partnership between Pace and Deloitte, including alumni relations, and scholarship and campaign support. >> more info |
| Dow Jones CEO to Be Honored at BAP Spring Dinner Richard F. Zannino, MBA '84, CEO, Dow Jones & Company, will be honored at the Iota Lambda Chapter of Beta Alpha Psi's (BAP) 11th Annual Spring Dinner on April 23, 2007, at the downtown New York City campus. Zannino will deliver the keynote address and will be inducted as an honorary member to the chapter. Zannino is also a member of the Lubin Advisory Board. >> more info |

Pace Alumnus Appointed FEI President and CEO Michael P. Cangemi, BBA '70, has been named president and CEO of Financial Executives International (FEI), the preeminent organization for financial executives. Cangemi is the former president and CEO of Etienne Aigner Group and has held senior positions at BDO Seidman, Phelps Dodge Corporation, and Ernst and Young. In 2003, he was the recipient of Lubin's highest honor, the Lubin Alumni Achievement Award. He will also be honored at the Lubin Spring Banquet, a networking student event, on March 26. >> more info |

| Fulbright Finalists from Lubin Four students from the Lubin School are among the 11 Pace finalists for the 2007 Fulbright International Awards. The students are awaiting acceptance from host countries. Erin Deal (management) selected host country New Zealand; Anthony Melendez (marketing) selected Brazil; Raj Shrestha (management/political science) applied for Nepal; and Ani Voskanyan (international management/finance) selected Belgium/Luxembourg. Two for Tee Time An outstanding Lubin alumnus, Tony DeLuca, BBA '84, CFO, Moore Capital Management, and long-time supporter of the Lubin Golf Classic, and Michael Patti, Patti & Sons, will be honored at the 9th Annual Lubin School of Business Golf Classic on Tuesday, May 29, 2007, at Wheatley Hills Golf Club in East Williston, Long Island. Golfers will enjoy an outstanding private golf club with a challenging Devereux Emmett designed course, 5-star cuisine at a brunch and dinner/cocktail reception, fabulous raffle prizes, and silent and live auctions. | Berger Appointed Associate Dean Karen Berger (marketing) was appointed associate dean and director of undergraduate programs at the Lubin School, effective December 21, 2006. Berger, who joined Lubin in 1988, earned her BA at SUNY Buffalo, MA at Columbia, MBA at the University of Connecticut, and PhD at New York University. She replaces James Russell (management), who will return to teaching following a sabbatical. Berger was undergraduate program chair for marketing from 1992 until she assumed her current position. >> more info |

Deloitte & Touche Managing Partner to Visit Pace On Monday, April 2, Barry Salzberg, managing partner, Deloitte & Touche USA LLP, will be visiting the Lubin School as an Executive in Residence. Salzberg will spend a day on the Pace downtown New York City campus lecturing to students and engaging the Pace community in a lively discussion about Deloitte, Generation Y, talent, and ethics. | Urban Schools Still Separate and Unequal Barry A. Gold (management) finds that teachers and administrators need to discard persistent values and practices caused by racial and economic segregation in order to solve the unequal teaching of urban students; money alone is not the answer. Gold reaches these conclusions in his new book, Still Separate and Unequal: Segregation and the Future of Urban School Reform, published by Columbia Teachers College on January 1, 2007. >> more info |

Don't Fret Tax Season - VITA Will Help The Iota Lambda chapter of Beta Alpha Psi at Lubin runs one of the most successful and largest Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) programs in New York City. Annually, the VITA Program offers free tax help to low-to-moderate-income (under $50,000) individuals. Student volunteers are trained by the IRS and must pass an IRS certification test before preparing returns. Last year over 900 volunteer hours were logged in the preparation of 458 returns. >> more info |

| Field Studies Span the Globe P.V. Viswanath (finance) and Eric Kessler (management) led a mixed group of MBA and Lubin Leaders and Scholars students to Mumbai and Bangalore, India, during the January break. Also during the winter break, Lubin undergraduate students traveled to Brussels and London with Dennis Sandler and Mary Long (both marketing faculty). Spring trips to China with Alan B. Eisner and John C. Byrne (both management faculty) and to Zurich and Milan with Kevin Wynne and Ronald Filante (both finance faculty) for undergraduate students are scheduled. These three-credit field trips offer Lubin students enriching opportunities to interact with foreign business leaders and students at local universities. >> more info |

Lubin Accounting Professor Honored On Friday, February 9, 2007, Susanne O'Callaghan (accounting) and her husband, John Walker, assistant dean at Queens College, CUNY, received the Distinguished Service Award from The Community Health Action of Staten Island, the largest AIDS based community service organization on Staten Island. Dr. O'Callaghan is the Anthony Pustorino CPA Scholar and associate professor of accounting. >> more info |
