E-Lab Opens in NYC Lubin officially opened the doors to its Entrepreneurship Lab (E-Lab) on February 16 and cutting the ribbon with Dean Neil Braun and Pace trustee Harold Levy was Professor Bruce Bachenheimer, director of the lab and Entrepreneurship@Lubin. The big picture strategy of the E-Lab is not only to incubate companies or create startups, but to foster entrepreneurial thinking. The E-Lab will provide all Pace students with a supportive, state-of-the-art environment, including access to workshops, guest speakers, roundtable discussions, and networking events. As Dean Braun remarked to crain's: "It's about more than starting companies. Entrepreneurship, to me, is a mindset, a way of thinking and interdisciplinary doing." >> more info |

and Regulation At a time when European financial uncertainty is underscoring the impact of international businesses and economies on the U.S., the Lubin School has established a Center for Global Governance, Reporting and Regulation (CGGRR). Professor John Alan (Jack) James, a major proponent of teaching comparative corporate governance, is the Center's executive director. The CGGRR's first instructional program, a collaborative venture with the Association of International Bank Auditors (AIBA), leads to a Certified Compliance and Regulatory Professional or CCRPTM credential. The comprehensive five-month, 75-hour, 25-session course, which began on February 2, will provide intensive regulatory strategy and compliance training to professionals in global financial services. >> more info |

Bart Flaherty, CEO, GroupM Business Science, will be visiting Lubin's New York City campus as an Executive in Residence on April 12. GroupM Business Science is one of the companies under the umbrella of GroupM, owned by WPP, the world's largest media agency. Mr. Flaherty has a proven track record in helping business partners and clients understand how best to use their marketing, media and retail trade budgets to optimize sales and profit. He will be lecturing to students on the importance of marketing in the age of "Big Data" and applying quantitative skills across disciplines. >> more info |

Marsha Gordon, DPS '06, President and CEO, Business Council of Westchester will visit the Pleasantville campus as a Executive in Residence on Tuesday, April 10th. Dr. Gordon will be lecturing to undergraduate students, meeting with Business Honors students and student leaders, and attending a luncheon with the Dean, faculty and students. She will provide students with unique insights into the business community of Westchester county where the Pleasantville campus is located. >> more info |

With 800 students from 70 countries, Lubin has truly embraced the diversity of the world. On March 21, Lubin will host a Global Village Celebration with specialty food and music from the various cultures represented at Lubin. This event serves as an excellent opportunity for Lubin students to meet and network with other Lubin students from around the world and build their global networks. A committee of students from various cultures are helping to plan the event. Raffles will also be held for two free iPads. >> more info |

Lubin students William Woodard, '12 and Ursula Vero, '12, have been named to the Northeast-10 Conference Academic All-Conference Teams for football and volleyball, respectively. To be eligible for selection to the academic all-conference teams, a student-athlete must have participated in at least half of the team's competitions and be either a starter or significant contributor, achieved a 3.30 cumulative grade point average, and completed at least one academic year at his or her current institution. Both William and Ursula have been four-year athletes and have been on the Dean's List all four years. We congratulate William and Ursula on this great accomplishment. >> more info |

Professor Larry Chiagouris (marketing) recently teamed up with up-and-coming rapper Timid to offer career advice to college students. In his song and music video, "I Want the Secret," Timid speaks about the difficulties of the current economy and job market and how they affect his generation. Professor Chiagouris has also authored The Secret to Getting a Job after College. His book provides valuable information for students seeking a job after graduation. On March 6, the Pace Birnbaum Library in New York City will be hosting a talk with Dr. Chiagouris on his book. >> more info |

The Lubin Graduate Marketing Association successfully organized a trip to the BBDO headquarters on February 8. The visit to the award-winning advertising agency provided students with an exclusive opportunity to learn about the company first-hand and engage in interesting discussions with company executives. The students participated in a panel discussion comprised of department heads, and in turn, enriched their active learning experience. |

In recognition of his immense contribution to the education of women in India, Professor Surendra Kaushik (finance) was conferred with the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Samman Award, the highest honor given by the Government of India to Pravasi Bharathiar (persons of Indian ancestry residing abroad), at the conclusion of the tenth Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas in Jaipur, Rajasthan on January 9. Professor Kaushik established the Helena Kaushik Women's P.G. College in his native village, Malsisar, Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan in 1999. More than 1,100 young women of all economic, social and religious backgrounds have graduated from the college since then. >> more info |

Lubin's Iota Lambda chapter of Beta Alpha Psi (BAP) annually organizes the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program offering free tax assistance to low-income individuals and retirees. BAP volunteers are trained by the IRS and obtain certification by passing a basic proficiency exam. Filers may come to Pace to have their taxes prepared from now until April 14. During the spring 2012 semester, Lubin students will be able to experience and understand global economies outside of the classroom through international field study trips to Brazil, China, India, Denmark and Sweden, and will be in positions to network with senior business officials and gain closer insight into foreign economies. In the fall, fifty-one students traveled to London and Brussels, Israel, and Singapore and Malaysia. Over the course of the academic year, 39 students have been awarded scholarships in the amount of $1,500 or $2,000 for Lubin field study courses. These scholarships have been made available through the generous support of the Figueroa Family Fund and the Nancy and Gene Celentano Fund.
