Pace Has #1 Online Program in the Country
U.S.News & World Report has ranked Pace University as having the number one online bachelor's degree program in the country in their most recent "2013 Best Online Bachelor's Programs" rankings. Factors such as faculty credentials and training, student services and technology, and student engagement were evaluated to rank the best online bachelor's programs. U.S.News & World Report collected statistical information on 237 schools to compile their list.

PepsiCo Exec. Next Lubin Executive in Residence  
Lubin will continue its Executive in Residence series this spring when Mario Mercurio, senior vice president and general manager of the Franchise Business Unit (FBU) of Pepsi-Cola North America Beverages, will be lecturing to students on the Pleasantville campus on April 2, 2013. Mr. Mercurio has extensive experience in leading sales, brand building and marketplace development. His lecture topic is: "The Pepsi Cola Strategy: Performance With Purpose" and will feature promotional spots from the Super Bowl, and showcase Pepsi's partnerships with Beyoncé, One Direction, Drew Brees and more. How Will The Debt Crisis Impact You?
Pace University and Travelers Institute invite you to the screening of Overdraft, a one-hour documentary made for public television that highlights the growing U.S. deficit and its critical implications for individuals and U.S. economic competitiveness. In Overdraft, the depth of America's debt crisis is explored on the federal and state levels. Following the screening on Wednesday, March 13, at the New York City campus, faculty experts will participate in a panel discussion along with a special guest from Travelers Institute to further examine this topic.

[Cybercrime: How Safe is Your Wallet?]
On Thursday, February 28, 2013, Pace and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), the global organization for financial leaders and accountants, are partnering for a panel discussion on "Cybercrime in the World Today." This free event will include a networking breakfast reception followed by a discussion among faculty and industry leaders on the impact of cybercrime. Original research on "skimmer fraud" and the results of a global survey of over 2000 financial professionals will also be discussed.

Save the date for the Ninth Annual Pace Pitch Contest to be held on Thursday, April 18. The contest is based on the Elevator Pitch concept popular in the venture capital community. Competitors submit an extremely concise presentation of an entrepreneurial idea, business model, marketing strategy, competitive analysis, and financial plan. A panel of professionals from Cushman & Wakefield will discuss Commercial Real Estate Insights for NYC Startups on February 21. Miles Lasater, president, chairman and COO, Higher One, will also be visiting the New York City campus as a special guest speaker on March 21. Free Tax Assistance from VITA
Lubin's Iota Lambda chapter of Beta Alpha Psi (BAP) organizes the annual Volunteer Income Tax Preparation Assistance Program (VITA) offering free tax assistance to low-moderate income individuals and retirees. BAP volunteers are trained by the IRS and obtain certification by passing a proficiency exam. Field Study Trips Offer International Perspectives
Field Study Trips Offer International Perspectives
During the spring 2013 semester, Lubin students will be able to experience and understand global economies outside of the classroom through international field study trips to Brazil, China, France and England, and will be in positions to network with senior business officials and gain closer insight into foreign economies. In fall 2012, a record number of 63 Lubin students traveled to London and Brussels, India, and Argentina and Chile. Over the course of the academic year, 24 students have been awarded scholarships in the amount of $1,500 or $2,000 for Lubin field study courses. It was also just announced that the fall 2013 semester will include a new marketing field study trip to Vietnam. To learn more about international field study trips, visit www.pace.edu/cgbp.

In the marketing industry there is an increasing focus on "Big Data." Michael Minelli, BBA '96, has co-authored the book Big Data, Big Analytics: Emerging Business Intelligence and Analytic Trends for Today's Businesses, in which he discusses the importance of managing "big data" analytics. The book also mentions Lubin's new MS program in Customer Intelligence and Analytics, and features an endorsement from alumnus and Professor Anthony Branda, who teaches in the program and is a program founder.

♦  New, Expanded CCRP™ Cycle Starts in February 2013

The Association of International Bank Auditors (AIBA) and the Lubin School of Business at Pace University have created a joint six-month premier certificate program for bank compliance professionals - the Certified Compliance and Regulatory Professional (CCRP™). The new and expanded CCRP™ program starts February 28, 2013. This six-month program with 20 three-hour sessions adds two new modules on securities law and consumer protection law, and addresses the need for a well-recognized, comprehensive international compliance credential. ♦  Next MFP Cycle Begins This Month

Today's financial market difficulties can be a silver lining for moving ahead in your career. Lubin's Masters in Finance for Professionals (MFP) program is specially designed for people already working in finance or those wanting to enter the field who need to update their knowledge and skills within a practical framework. There's still time to enroll in the 36-credit MS program, which combines online study with weekend residencies. Classes begin February 21, 2013, and the GMAT is not required. ♦  NEW MS in Financial Risk Management

This fall, Lubin will introduce a new Master's Degree program—the MS in Financial Risk Management—that will prepare students for the FRM certification offered by GARP. The program will provide students with a thorough understanding of all aspects of financial risk management, whether in a financial institution or in a non-financial institution, beginning from a comprehensive understanding of equity, bond and derivative markets and continuing to an appreciation of the management of portfolios, and the measurement and management of risk in those portfolios.
