Herbert L. Henkel, chairman, president and CEO, Ingersoll-Rand Company, will visit the Westchester campuses as an Executive in Residence (EIR) on October 13th to discuss "Building Shareholder Value." The EIR program has been at Pace for over 15 years and is one of the many ways Lubin connects students with real business.

10th Annual Securities Industry Conference
[Robert Greifeld] "Preparing for the Future of Financial Services: Strategies for an Industry in Flux" will be the focus of the 10th Annual Securities Industry conference on October 23, 2003. The conference will feature high level Wall Street executives as speakers and panelists, including luncheon keynote speaker Robert Greifeld, CEO of the NASDAQ. Major funding is provided by the New York Stock Exchange, Bloomberg, and the NASDAQ.

If the shoe fits—wear it, and it is certainly fitting that Etienne Aigner CEO, Michael P. Cangemi, is being honored as the recipient of the Lubin Alumni Achievement Award at a luncheon to be held at JPMorganChase headquarters in downtown NYC on December 5th. Cangemi is being touted for his outstanding professional leadership and demonstrated contributions in community service and social responsibility.

4th Annual Henry George Symposium Presents Dr. William J. Baumol
[painting by Dr. William J. Baumol] Noted NYU professor of economics, professor emeritus at Princeton and accomplished artist, Dr. William J. Baumol, will be the speaker at the 4th Annual Henry George Symposium on October 29, 2003. His topic will be "Free Market Growth and Rent Beyond Land: Henry George Generalized."

Professor Jouahn Nam, finance, has been appointed NYSE Scholar for the next two years to conduct research on such issues as market efficiency and market structure. Professor Daniel Tinkelman, accounting, recently named Ernst & Young Scholar for a three-year term, will conduct research on accounting issues for nonprofit organizations.
