U.S.News & World Report ranks the undergraduate business program at Pace University's Lubin School of Business 116th nationwide, which is among the top third of all professionally accredited business schools, in its "America's Best Colleges" 2006 rankings. This positions Pace among the top 50 private university business programs in the country and among the top four undergraduate business programs located in New York City. Lubin was ranked 120th in the 2005 rankings.

NYSE and Nasdaq Leaders to Keynote Securities Conference
Marshall N. Carter, chair of the New York Stock Exchange, and Robert Greifeld, president and CEO of The Nasdaq Stock Market, will keynote the 12th Annual Securities Industry Conference on October 19, 2005, on the Pace Downtown NYC campus. Presented by the Lubin School's William C. Freund Center for the Study of Securities Markets, this "high-impact hobnob" has become a must-attend event for professionals in the securities industry. Calling all Entrepreneurs!
The Second Annual Pace Pitch Contest is fast approaching. Sponsored again by JPMorgan Chase, this contest offers budding entrepreneurs a chance to present their business plans to a panel of distinguished judges for just three minutes, with prizes for the winners. The contest will be preceded by an Entrepreneurship Conference, "The Outlook for Entrepreneurship in 2006," keynoted by the ubiquitous entrepreneur David Oreck, of vacuum cleaner fame. December 9, 2005, is the date and the Pace Downtown NYC campus is the place.

On Wednesday, November 30, 2005, Susan Sokol, president, Vera Wang, will be visiting the Lubin School as an Executive in Residence. Sokol, one of the fashion industry's most highly regarded senior executives, will spend a day on the Pace Downtown New York City campus lecturing to students and engaging the Pace community in a lively discussion about her company and the fashion industry.

The highly respected scholar Rosabeth Moss Kanter, who ranks in the top 10 of the "50 most influential business thinkers in the world," will be speaking at Pace University on October 10, 2005, at the Pace Downtown NYC campus. This visit is part of the distinguished scholar series for the Lubin Leaders and Scholars Program, sponsored by the Academy of Management. She currently is the Ernest L. Arbuckle Professor of Business Administration at Harvard Business School.

On October 26, 2005, all Lubin MBA students interested in exploring job prospects and meeting with representatives of various industries in the New York Metropolitan area should plan to come to the Pace Downtown NYC campus for the 2nd Annual MBA Career Fair. Bring plenty of resumes!

Centennial Kickoff
Join us on October 6, 2005, for our Centennial Kickoff to take place on the New York City, Pleasantville, and White Plains campuses. President David A. Caputo will visit each campus throughout the event-filled day and will unveil the signed Centennial banners, which will hang at each campus throughout the year. The Pace community will enjoy Edy's Ice Cream while listening to the vibrant music of 1906.

The 13th Annual Alumni Achievement Award Luncheon is off to a fabulous start with our honoree, Daniel Davids, '72, '74, president of the celebrated History Channel–USA. A&E, the History Channel, ABC/Disney, NBC/Universal, and many other entertainment companies are already on board. Tickets are still available for the December 2, 2005, event, but may not be for long, so make your reservations soon.

CIBD Activities Strengthen International Perspective
The Center for International Business Development (CIBD) offered two very successful customized international programs for students from EDHEC Business School in France and ITESM Campus Santa Fe in Mexico during the summer. The CIBD developed a meaningful partnership with EM-Lyon that will bring approximately 20 senior level executive participants from prominent blue-chip companies to Lubin in June 2006.

Exploring International Business Perspectives
Visiting students from France and Mexico joined Pace students to hear the inside scoop on how to have successful careers in international businesses at a unique conference, "Diversity Management from a French Perspective." The conference, sponsored by Lubin's Center for International Business Development (CIBD), was held at the downtown New York City campus on June 29, 2005.

New Faculty Welcomed to Lubin
Six new full-time faculty joined the Lubin School this fall. Melissa S. Cardon, PhD, Columbia University, Management; Vishal Lala, PhD, Oklahoma State University, Marketing; and Ipshita Ray, PhD, University of Connecticut, Marketing, are tenure track faculty. Gerard Engeholm, PhD, New York University, Accounting; Peter Pfau, MBA, New York University, Finance & Economics; and Robert Unger, MBA, Columbia University, Marketing, are clinical faculty.
Homer S. Pace Medal Dinner
On Thursday, October 20, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., the Lubin School will host the Homer S. Pace Medal dinner in Pleasantville. This event honors seniors in area high schools who were selected to receive the medal in recognition of their academic achievement and interest in pursuing a career in accounting or other business field at Lubin. The students are provided with an introduction to Pace and have an opportunity to meet with Lubin faculty and students as well as representatives from various campus offices.
Lubin Recognizes Junior Achievements
The Lubin School will celebrate the academic achievement of its juniors during its Third Annual Joseph I. Lubin Junior Recognition Reception on Tuesday, October 18, 2005, on the Pace Downtown NYC campus and on October 25, in Pleasantville. Lubin faculty, students, and staff will be present at the events, where juniors will learn more about the opportunities that await them upper division Lubin students. This event recognizes juniors in good academic standing.
