In a different world, Billie Streets would be singing her heart out right now.

Streets, now Vice President for Corporate Events at Madison Square Garden, had been organizing special events for the Garden's clients including the Knicks and Radio City Entertainment for almost nine years, but she was yearning for more.

"I was doing my job very well, but I felt like I was losing brain cells every day, that I needed more intellectual stimulation," she says. "There were a number of things I thought about doing...I sing a bit, so I was thinking about joining a choir, or starting a hobby. But I decided to go to school at Pace University."

Even though she began the DPS program without knowing precisely how it would enhance her career, she says its integration of practice and theory gives her new insights into the workplace.<

"Mixing the theory of the classroom with my classmates' real-world experiences has been very beneficial," she says. "I'm getting new tools for today and the future, and any time you add new tools you have new options."
