Emphasizing aspects of accounting, economics, finance, strategic management and marketing, and management science relevant to modern investment analysis, the curriculum also focuses on theories, practices, strategies, and methodologies that reflect the current state of the field of investment management and analysis.

Program and Courses
The investment manager must have a profound understanding of the mechanism of business and the economy. How do trends in the economy and the industry impact the company in which he or she has invested? What are the advantages and disadvantages of diversification among investments? The investment management program prepares students to answer these challenging questions. Specialized courses in investment analysis and portfolio management augment the solid MBA core to provide both a strong business foundation and in-depth knowledge of investment strategies. With a faculty adviser the student can design a curriculum to meet personal professional goals by choosing from a number of elective courses taught by professors who work in the investments field.

"Our MS program in Investment Management prepares students for careers in the financial marketplace, as well as for positions in corporations that directly involve the financial marketplace. The courses that aspirants in this program take cover the operation of financial markets as well as the details of equity, fixed income and derivative securities. Our proximity to Wall Street allows us to offer a course of study that both has academic rigor, yet is integrated with the realities of the Street. For example, our students have been competing successfully in contests such as the New York Society of Security Analysts's (NYSSA) Investment Research Challenge, as well as other Portfolio Management competitions. Successful graduates can look forward to rewarding careers as Securities Traders, Fund Managers, Risk Managers, Security Analysts, Credit Analysts or Structured Finance experts."
