Overview
Perhaps more than any other single resource, business depends on information. Every aspect of today's business world is being transformed by information technology, and the business world needs well-educated and talented individuals to manage and lead this transformation. Our Master of Business Administration in Information Systems program prepares you to meet the information demands of the new international economy.

As an Information Systems major, you will take courses from the Lubin School of Business and the Seidenberg School of Computer Science and Information Systems, one of the first comprehensive computing schools in the country. You will receive an education in theory and practice of both modern business and modern information systems. Upon graduation, you will have the technical expertise to begin or continue your career in business, telecommunications, database administration, Internet technologies, or systems analysis and design.

Program and Courses
The major in Information Systems is predicated on the belief that information is an essential decision-making resource for all organizations. The Information Systems major is designed to develop the student's ability to understand and develop computer-based information systems that provide accurate, timely, consistent and integrated data for effective management. It also is intended to allow students at various stages in their careers to enter or continue careers in telecommunications, database administration, Internet technologies, and systems analysis and design.

Many of our graduates return to Pace at the suggestion of their HR departments to handpick additional MBA/IS graduates to fill career positions at their firms. The university's close proximity to the corporate headquarters of numerous world-class technology firms such as IBM and Verizon, banking and brokerage institutions including Citibank, JPMorganChase, AIG, Merrill Lynch, Goldman Sachs, and dozens of other Fortune 500 companies, provides students with the widest possible range of employment opportunities upon graduation.

Faculty
The information systems faculty of the Seidenberg School are practitioners as well as scholars. Many have experience in various management positions, some for as much as twenty to twenty-five years. Each member of the faculty is an active researcher with many scholarly presentations and publications in national and international journals. This balance between practice and research is brought to their teaching as they engage students in a variety of learning activities.
