MS Accounting CPA Preparation Program

Overview

Pace is among the fewer than 3% of business schools nationwide that have both professional and accounting accreditation from AACSB.

The Lubin School's MS in Accounting program is designed to provide an intensive, high- quality, specialized, professional education within the functional areas of accounting. The program provides students with a conceptual and analytical foundation, as well as an understanding of accounting theories and their applications. It is also designed to prepare students for CPA certification.

Program and Courses
The purpose of this course of study is to provide candidates with a conceptual and analytical foundation that will qualify them for a career as a CPA. Upon completion of the program, graduates will have achieved the required accounting academic qualifications for admission to the CPA examinations in New York State.

The program stresses the following: conceptual understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, application of conceptual knowledge of accounting, understanding of generally accepted auditing standards and procedures, understanding of legal and ethical principles and recognizing their implications in accounting situations.
The student's undergraduate/graduate transcripts will be reviewed in order to determine if any additional credits are needed to meet State CPA requirements.

Degree Requirements

Students who have completed undergraduate and/or graduate courses very similar in content to those with asterisks may be able to complete this program in 30 credits.
