Overview
The International Management major prepares students for the global world of business through specialized study in a particular region of the world. Students are required to concentrate in one of the following regions: Asia, Europe, or Latin America. The choice of region will determine the appropriate international management environments course, as well as the courses to be taken to fulfill the foreign language and cultures requirement. As students are likely to start out learning the business of the employing organization before embarking on international opportunities, they are also required to choose a career concentration area. These could be in finance, economics, hospitality and tourism management, human resources management, marketing, entreprenuership, or an individually designed concentration area. Due to the interdisciplinary nature of the International Management major, all students are required to have a plan of study approved by an international management advisor on their home campus in their first semester or as soon as they have been accepted into the program.

Students who graduate with an International Management major are likely to start out in a functional area of a business organization to learn the business, its products, customers, industry characteristics, and organizational operations before embarking on international assignments in their careers.
