Overview
Pace has one hundred years of experience in preparing students for successful accounting careers. The relevance and innovation of our programs has resulted in our being awarded the prestigious AACSB Accounting Accreditation, a distinction that only 167 schools across the nation share. AACSB, the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, is the premier accrediting organization for business schools in the world. Pace is among the fewer than 3% of business schools nationwide that have both professional and accounting accreditation from AACSB.

Lubin's BBA/MBA program provides students with the opportunity to complete both degrees in five years, while avoiding the duplication that often occurs in separate academic programs. Students work in teams on real world problems and conduct a simulated audit during their final semester. They have access to the latest technology and software in dedicated computer classrooms. Students also develop a heightened sense of ethics, professionalism, and globalization, which are all integrated throughout the curriculum.

Admission
Admission to the Combined BBA/MBA Program originates at the undergraduate level. Candidates may be admitted conditionally to the program directly from high school. In order to qualify for direct admission, candidates are required to have a minimum high school average of 90% and a combined SAT score of 1125, or an equivalent score on the ACT. Students wishing to transfer into the program from another college or university must have achieved at least a 3.20 CQPA at their previous school. All transfer students will be required to fulfill a residency requirement of at least 32 credits at the undergraduate level. Continuing students applying to change their major to the Combined Program are required to have at least a 3.20 CQPA for admission. One semester prior to the completion of the undergraduate portion, students apply for admission to the graduate portion of the program. Admission to the MBA program requires a minimum CQPA of 3.20 for all undergraduate work completed at Pace and a minimum score of 520 on the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT).

Program and Courses
The accounting department offers the accelerated 150-credit Combined BBA/MBA Program for highly qualified students who wish to prepare for the public accounting profession and earn both a BBA and MBA in less time than is normally required. You will be fully prepared to take the CPA exam upon graduation. The program is registered with the New York State Education Department as meeting both the current education requirements for CPA licensure and the 150-credit hour requirement, which will be implemented in New York State as of August 1, 2009. Graduates of the Combined Program satisfy the current requirements for the one-year CPA experience waiver in New York State. The program also meets the educational requirements for admission to the CPA examination in most other states, including those which require 150 credit hours.

Full-time students will be able to complete the Combined Program in five years, or four years with additional summer study.

Career Opportunities
In December 2007, the Bureau of Labor Statistics projected an 18% increase in employment growth for accountants and auditors from 2006-16. The scope of services provided by certified public accountants (CPAs) and other professional accountants is constantly broadening as business activities expand and become more complex. Therefore, the need for well-qualified accounting students with a heightened level of professionalism has never been stronger. The Big Four accounting firms all actively recruit our students for both internships and full time positions. The success of the program is measured by the success of our alumni. Several of our alumni have undertaken significant leadership roles as partners in Big Four accounting firms. Our graduates are also successfully employed by smaller accounting firms, government agencies, and private corporations in the tri-state region.

Corporate Internship Opportunities
Pace's Cooperative Education Program is the largest university internship program in the New York metropolitan area. There are a variety of internships available for accounting majors at Pace. The Big Four firms all have formal internship programs for our students, as do many smaller accounting firms, such as BDO Seidman and McGladrey & Pullen. Corporations such as Pepsi, JPMorganChase, and IBM also provide excellent co-op experiences for our accounting majors. By and large, student interns are able to leverage their internship experiences into full-time positions.
