Accounting students from Pace University and Queens College were "IRS Special Agents for a Day," on September 25, 2009. Working with IRS criminal investigators, 20 students learned federal law enforcement techniques such as undercover, surveillance, subpoenas, and search and arrest warrants to enact scenarios investigating financial fraud. The downtown Manhattan Pace campus and the surrounding streets were their stage for this exciting hands-on financial forensics training. Participating IRS agents wereformed into teams with students from Pace and Queens College. Each team was led by a real IRS Agent. Students were given a crime scenario and worked with clues to solve the case. IRS agents also trained students in properly infiltrating and arresting culprits.
