
Matthew P. Fink: The Rise of Mutual Funds

Matthew P. Fink was employed by the Investment Company Institute, the national association of the mutual fund industry, from 1971 to 2004, and served as the Institute's President from 1991 to 2004.
He is a trustee of the Committee for Economic Development, a director of the Oppenheimer Mutual Funds, and a member of the FINRA Investment Companies Committee.
He has authored articles on mutual fund history and lectures at law schools, law firms, and other institutions on that history. In 2007 he completed a history of the mutual fund industry to be published by Oxford University Press in late 2008.
Mr. Fink is an honors graduate of Brown University and Harvard Law School, and attended the London School of Economics. He and his wife, Ellanor, live in Chevy Chase, Maryland. They have three children.
