Publicis North America and Pace University's Lubin School of Business have partnered to present the second annual Business Strategy and Data Science Case Competition.
Publicis North America is continuing its partnership with Pace University's Lubin School of Business to offer the second annual Business Strategy and Data Science Case Competition in fall 2016. Four student teams will duel it out to provide the most innovative and strategic business solutions to real-life business problems faced by Publicis's clients. This competition serves as dynamic opportunity for Lubin students to leverage their academic skillset/knowledge and apply it to global fortune 500 brands.
Details, required skills and deliverables will be presented by Publicis at the Briefing and Networking Reception on November 2nd, 2016.

Finalists will have the rare opportunity to be interviewed for positions within Publicis North America and its network of agencies.
Publicis Groupe pioneered the advertising industry in the late 1920s. The little-known Paris based advertising agency grew rapidly in the last 95 years, becoming one of the world’s largest global network of agencies today. Publicis Groupe currently owns over 1,600 different agencies in 105 countries servicing over thousands of brands across multiple industries. Publicis North America is the Groupe’s flagship and largest agency with offices and centers of excellence across the continent.

Case Competition Timeline:
Oct. 17: Registration opens to ALL Pace students
Nov. 2: Networking and Briefing Reception at Pace (6:00-7:30 p.m. in the Bianco Room, One Pace Plaza)
Nov. 4: Registration deadline. No application will be accepted after this date.
Nov. 7: Participants screened, interviewed and teams finalized. Case is sent by Publicis to teams via e-mail.
Nov. 20: Written case is due to Publicis via e-mail by noon.
Nov. 21: Final presentations at Publicis
Nov. 30: Winning team announced
1st Place winners will qualify for interviews for internship and full-time positions with Publicis North America.
Top performing students from rest of the teams may also be offered interviews for internships and full-time positions with Publicis North America and its many agencies.
General Case Competition Rules:
- Student teams may submit only one final response to the case study, which should address all questions asked. The written response must be submitted in Microsoft Word format.
- The response must have reasonable spacing and font size (i.e. 12 pt. Arial). The response must not exceed five pages of text, with five additional pages in charts, graphs or exhibits.
- Student teams are encouraged to work on their own to solve the case, although they may solicit assistance from faculty. Any faculty assistance will be logged and reported back to judges.
- Final round presentations should be delivered in Power Point format. No more than 25 slides. All team members must participate in the final presentation.
No team member, or faculty member, should be a current employee or consultant for Publicis North America.
- Minimum of 3 students per team (4 maximum).
- Every team member must be either a full-time or part-time student at Pace University.
- The teams can be a combination of undergradudate and masters-level graduate students.
- Students must be available to present their case in person during the week of November 16-23, 2016.
- Final presentation attire: business casual
- To be eligible, students must submit a resume by Friday, November 4, 2016 to Dr. Ipshita Ray at email@example.com. It is recommended to send the resume along with a brief paragraph about one's interest in this competition and related qualifications. Please send this e-mail by noon on November 4th.

Tim Rich, Director of Data Science, NY, Publicis North America
Tim Rich is a data scientist specializing in predictive modeling, economic sociology, and quantifying the un-quantifiable. Central to his work, Tim focuses on the nexus of human behavior and data, opening new pathways for insights, practical methods of behavioral change and dynamic intuitive visualizations. When he is not digging through data he collects vinyl records and works on the Internet of Things with Arduino.

Chirag Piparia, Associate Director, Data Science and Search, NY, Publicis North America
Chirag is the analytics lead for P&G PHC where he specialize in measuring & optimizing clients' marketing performance & media investments for Fortune 500 business across financial, retail, & pharmaceutical brands. Chirag analytics's niche is in quantifying brands in the consumer packages goods industry. Prior to Publicis, Chirag was with Digitas and GroupM where he lead MMM and attribution modeling for a variety of different business verticals. Chirag is responsible for leading, developing and managing all aspects of data and analytics at Publicis - including measurement framework designs, KPIs, reporting platforms, dashboards, optimizations, media and marketing mix modeling.
Neil S. Braun, Dean, Lubin School of Business - Pace University
Neil S. Braun is the Dean of Pace University's Lubin School of Business in New York since July 2010. He has previously been President of the NBC Television Network, Chairman and CEO of Viacom Entertainment, an internet and environmental entrepreneur, a film producer and corporate attorney. Braun serves on the board of directors, audit, compensation and governance committees of IMAX Corporation (NYSE), the board and finance committee of national anti-hunger organization Share Our Strength and is President of the Board of the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center. He has taught an MBA course in economic models of media and entertainment at the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. He holds a BA from the University of Pennsylvania and a JD from the University of Chicago Law School. .
Pace University Faculty Advisor
Dr. Ipshita Ray, Associate Professor of Marketing and Program Chair, Lubin School of Business - Pace University
Dr. Ipshita Ray is an Associate Professor of Marketing and Graduate Program Chair at the Lubin School of Business, Pace University, New York. Her research interests include customer decision making processes, customer relationship management, online versus offline shopping behaviors and marketing communication effectiveness. Dr. Ray also has many years of work experience in marketing research and media planning with companies such as MMA/Carat and J.Walter Thompson. She was the Advertising Education Foundation's 2008 Visiting Professor Program's national award recipient and worked with host advertising agency, DDB, Chicago on McDonald's, Budweiser, Wrigley's and State Farm accounts. She was awarded the Outstanding Professor of the Year award in 2002 with an honorary induction to the National Honors Society for Adult Learners in Continuing Higher Education (Alpha Sigma Lambda).
