50 Days and 50 Nights (PLV)
From block parties to job fairs to an adventure in soul cycling, Pleasantville’s 50 Days and 50 Nights is ready to kick off the year in style.
To properly prepare you for the semester ahead, SDCA is presenting students with 50 Days and 50 Nights worth of activities, events, workshops, and more!
As you settle into your classes, circle of friends, and ever-comfortable crocs, here’s what we’ve got on slate:
Campus Involvement Fair
Tuesday, September 5 | 4:30 p.m.| Shirley Beth’s Way
Get to know the student clubs and organizations that make Pace sing, dance, and play. From engaging in hard-hitting reporting for the Pace Chronicle to belting out melodies for the gospel choir, there’s something for everyone at the campus involvement fair. Wednesday, September 6 | 12:00 p.m.–1:30 p.m. | Gottesman Room
Need to fatten up your semesterly funds? The job fair will help you find open positions in departments on the PLV Campus, as well as local employers looking for workers this year. And hey, you never know—connections you make here can boost your career weeks, months, even years down the road.
BSU Annual Block Party
Thursday, September 7 | 6:00 p.m.–10:00 p.m. | Alumni Lawn
Come on out for a night of friends and fun at Black Student Union’s annual block party. One of the finest kickoff events on campus, the block party will feature food, music, dancing, and of course, tons of fun to get you in the right mindset as you prepare to take on the semester.
Soul Cycle Trip
Friday, September 8 | 4:30 p.m.–7:00 p.m. | Alumni Hall Lobby
Soul Cycle, the spinning sensation that’s gripping the nation, is coming to Pace! Well, sort of. More accurately, the Office of Housing and Residential Life is organizing a trip to help you get your spin on. Meet in the Alumni Hall lobby if you’re looking to get an intense, worthwhile workout in before the weekend hits.
Film Club Movie Marathon
Friday, September 8 | 5:00 p.m.–12:00 a.m. | Willcox Multi-purpose Room
Are you a movie junkie, looking for like-minded friends on campus? Swap tales of Tarantino, or stories of Scorsese at the film club’s movie marathon kickoff event. While the movies are TBD, the film buffs will ensure this is appointment viewing.
42nd Street on PLV
Friday, September 8 | 7:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m. | Miller Lawn
The famous jukebox musical that’s taken Broadway by storm is swimming up the Hudson for an evening on Miller Lawn. Grab the popcorn, friends, and enjoy the show.
Women’s Soccer vs. St Anselm
Saturday, September 9 | 2:00 p.m. | Pace Stadium
While you’re setting your goals for the semester, the Setter soccer team is busy scoring them. Come watch the women’s squad hook the Hawks of St. Anselm College—attendees will also receive a free schedule poster and magnets, courtesy of Pace Athletics.
Women’s Field Hockey vs. Assumption College
Saturday, September 9 | 4:00 p.m. | Peter X. Finnerty Field
Don’t make the assumption that the field hockey team doesn’t need your support—in fact, all hands on deck will help stifle those pesky Greyhounds from Assumption College, as the Setters will look to build momentum before heading into official NE-10 conference play.
Picnic Under the Stars

Circle of Greeks

Think you wanna go Greek, but just don’t know the difference between Alpha Lambda Sigma and Sigma Lambda Upsilon? Don’t fret. Head to the Circle of Greeks, where fraternities and sororities will be present and telling students all about their organizations.

Join together with the PLV Community for the annual candlelight vigil to honor those who we lost on September 11.

Do you have the drive both inside and outside the classroom? Do you also have a parking sticker?
