As the weather turns a little bit crisper, indulge in the pleasant(ville) atmosphere with community service workshops, football for a cause, and a groovy tie-dye t-shirt night.

Relaxation Room Grand Re-Opening
Monday, September 25 | 3:00 p.m. | Elm Hall Lobby
Sit back and enjoy the grand re-opening of the famed and acclaimed Relaxation Room! Not only will the first 40 people to arrive be entered to win a Buddha Board, but all attendees will be treated to pizza, music, a tour of the room, and a great way to stave off the Monday blues.

Raices Week: Legislative Literature

The Alpha Xi Chapter of Sigma Lambda Upsilon/Señoritas Latinas Unidas Sorority will be hosting an event on the importance of legislative literature, and the intersection between the power of stories and the ability to positively impact the law to enable a more just and equitable society.

Field Hockey vs. Adelphi University

Pace Field Hockey has gotten off a blistering start, and will be hoping to keep their winning ways alive as they face off against the Panthers of Adelphi University. Tuesday also happens to be t-shirt day—so not only do you get to cheer on your favorite Setters, you also get to head home in style!

Come to Miller Lawn for Pi Lambda Phi’s Unity Project. This day of action and reflection, hosted by the Alpha Rho chapter of the United States’ first nonsectarian fraternity, will remind everyone that we are stronger together.

Sing Movie Night

The Abyss of Sound is hosting a viewing of one of the most melodically momentous films of the year. This is a B.Y.O.B (bring you own blanket) event. Come hungry and enjoy some snacks!

Pace Football vs. Bentley (Coach to Cure MD)
Saturday, September 30 | 12:00 p.m. | Pace Stadium
The Setters are undefeated at home, and will look to extend that Pace Stadium record to a sparkling three wins and zero losses as they take on fiery Falcons of Bentley University. Saturday’s game will also help tackle Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a disorder which robs young men of precious muscle strength. Pace’s Coach to Cure MD game, a partnership between the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) and Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy (PPMD), will raise money to help fight for a cure and treatment.

Colors for a Cause
Sunday, October 1 | 2:00 p.m.–5:00 p.m. | Miller Lawn
Get colorful and competitive for a great cause! Colors for a Cause is an annual event hosted by the sisters of Sigma Iota Chi in honor of breast cancer awareness and the Alzheimer’s Association. Attendees will split into teams, throw colored powder, and play field games such as tug of war, water balloon toss, wheel barrow racing, hula hoop games, and plenty of water gun wars.

CCAR Partners Meet and Greet

Come to the Center for Community Action and Research’s Meet and Great to start getting active in the community! Staff, faculty, and a number of community service organizations will be on hand to give you the lowdown on both community service and internship opportunities at nonprofits.

Women’s Soccer vs. Southern Connecticut State University

The Setters will look to dribble, pass, and drive their way to victory against the onerous Owls of Southern Connecticut State University. This game is sure to be a hoot!

First Generation Social

First in your fam to go to college? You’re far from alone. According to a 2010 study conducted by the Department of Education, 50 percent of the college population is made up of first generation students. Come and meet fellow first gens, and get information about specific programs designed to support and enhance your college experience.
