Lubin Professor Padma Kadiyala, PhD, and Master’s in Finance for Professionals program alumnus Matthew Bergman authored the case study “The Reverse Merger between T-Mobile and MetroPCS.” The study was accepted for publication in the Journal of Case Studies.
Lubin Professor and Director of the Entrepreneurship Lab Bruce Bachenheimer moderated the panel discussion “Balancing a Cool Idea with Profitability” for Disruptive Technologists of New York City at Microsoft on April 1. Professor Bachenheimer was also quoted in the Crain’s New York Business article, “Preparing for the Return of the Dealmakers.” He is also quoted in the 914Inc. article, “Why and How You Can Make Vital Team Building Actually Work,” and in a Private Wealth Magazine article, “New Journeys.”
College of Health Professions Dean Harriet R. Feldman, PhD, RN, FAAN, was selected to receive the 2015 NYU College of Nursing Rose and George Doval Award for Excellence in Nursing Education, which was presented at the college’s annual student awards reception on Tuesday, March 24, 2015. The award recognizes a nurse educator who significantly influenced nursing education by creating innovative and humanistic approaches to teaching.
College of Health Professions Associate Dean for Faculty Scholarship and Professor Carol Roye won a 2014 American Journal Of Nursing Book Award for her book, A Woman’s Right To Know: How Women’s Health Became A Political Pawn and the Surprising Alliances Working To Reclaim It. Carol Roye won second place in the category of Public Interest and Creative Works.

Lubin Assistant Professor Julia Eisenberg, PhD, was a co-author on a paper published in the American Behavioral Scientist. The article, “The “Megapozitiv Role of Enterprise Social Media in Enabling Cross-Boundary Communication in a Distributed Russian Organization,” is a case study that empirically demonstrates that enterprise social media (ESM) promotes cross-boundary communication.
Lubin Professor Raymond H. Lopez, PhD, was honored by the Academic Federal Credit Union, at their Holiday Dinner Celebration, for his 30 years of service on its Board of Directors. He has been chairman of the Board for 28 years. In addition, Lopez also presented his case, “Apple, Inc.,” at the Hawaii International Conference of Business, in May 2014. The case was published in the proceedings of the conference. Lopez had four of his business cases published in refereed journals in 2014 : “Hotel Riscal for Wine Aficionados” in the Journal of Financial Education; “Apple, Inc.” in the Journal of Finance Case Research, “Survey Research Associates” in the Journal of Finance Case Research, and “The Deutsch-Casella Joint Venture and Yellowtail Wines: Trading Up or Trading Down” in the Case Research Journal.
Dyson Professor Lee Evans, EdD, recently published “Bebop: an Inside Look at the Dynamics of Modern Jazz” in the winter 2015 issue of The California Music Teacher and “Teaching Intervals: a Basic Theory Review” in the winter 2015 issue of Piano Guild Notes.
Daniel Greenberg, PhD, associate professor of History and director of the Latin American Studies program, was quoted in the Miami Herald on recent political tensions in Argentina.
Dyson Professors of Art Charlotte Beckett and Linda Herritt each received New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) Fellowships. This highly competitive program makes cash grants of $7,000 to artists in New York State working in a variety of disciplines. Becket and Herritt won, respectively, in the categories of crafts/sculpture and printmaking/drawing/book arts.
Dyson Professor of Chemistry and Physical Sciences and Director of Pace’s Haskins Laboratories Nigel Yarlett, PhD, has conducted research on the effects of antimicrobial hand sanitizers on transient methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). An important partner on this work, Zylast, was recently named winner of the Fighting Ebola Grand Challenge.
