April Showers Bring 50 Days Power (PLV)
BBQs, a paint and sip, dinners, talent and fashion shows, manhunt, and more await this week as 50 Days and 50 Nights rolls into April.
From BBQs to a paint and sip, there are tons of great events to look forward to this week in PLV! Whether we get April showers or refreshing spring sunshine, take the time to enjoy these fun and bright events as part of SDCA’s 50 Days and 50 Nights.
Here’s a look at what’s coming up:
Monday, April 3
12:10 p.m.–1:20 p.m. | Miller Lawn
Get relay ready for Relay for Life! Participate in relay races, obstacle courses, potato sack races, and more to raise money for Relay for Life and get pumped for the big event later on in the month. All proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society.
6:00 p.m.–12:00 a.m. | New York City
Join the Pace Drama Alliance in seeing one of the newest shows to hit Broadway! Inspired by the films, this dreamy show transports us from the twilight of the Russian Empire to Paris in the 1920s, as a young woman bravely ventures out to discover the mystery of her past. Purchase your $15 tickets (includes transportation).
9:00 p.m.–12:00 a.m. | Gottesman Room
This informational event will focus on the dangers of drugs, what common drugs are found on college campuses, and what the misconceptions of these drugs are. It will show how drugs affect communities and how drugs affect culture.
Tuesday, April 4
Women’s Lacrosse vs. Adelphi University

Watch as the Setters attempt to send the Adelphi Panthers running all the way home.

Commuter Life: Gas Run

Sing for a Cure

Are you a karaoke master? Come out and belt your favorite tunes or support other Setters as they sing to raise money for Relay for Life. All proceeds will be donated to the American Cancer Society.
Stomp the Yard Movie Night

Let me see you one, two, step! Join the step team High Definition as they come together with Pace students to watch an exciting movie about stepping.

Let’s talk about sex baby! Learn more about safe sex in a convention-style setting where you will be able to meet with different organizations and have your questions answered.

Self-Care: The Key to a Healthy Lifestyle

We all encounter stress and strain throughout our academic and personal lives. Learn how to cope with those situations that arise as part of the Hi-Potential Leadership Series from SDCA.
Autism Awareness Dinner
6:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m. | Willcox Multipurpose Room
Did you know one in 68 children have autism spectrum disorder? Commemorate World Autism Month at this dinner, which will bring awareness to the Pace Community about autism and inform Pace students about what they can do to help. Alpha Chi Rho will bring in a guest speaker or a presentation from Autism Speaks.
Don’t Forget the Lyrics

Are you a human jukebox? Know the lyrics to every song that graces the radio? Show off your skills at Phi Sigma Sigma’s Don't Forget the Lyrics game open to all students. How does it work? A clip of a song will be played and once it stops, contestants will have to buzz in and complete the next lyrics. All funds raised will be donated to the philanthropy of School and College Readiness.

Women unite! At this event, Omega Phi Beta will focus on women's empowerment and being true to themselves.

Want to get a taste of foods from around the world without leaving campus? Bring your appetite to Lambda Upsilon Lambda’s night of fabulous food and discussion about the cultures behind each dish.

Pace’s got talent! Alpha Lambda Sigma is back with their annual spring talent show to raise awareness about pediatric aids through donations to the Elizabeth Glaser Foundation for Pediatric Aids. Attendees will be charged $5 upon arrival, talent show winners will receive gift cards, and everyone will indulge in a “southern hospitality” buffet featuring BBQ pork shoulder, grilled chicken, and lots of fixings and sides.

APD Spring BBQ

BBQ season means summer is around the corner! Students are invited to join Alpha Phi Delta for a toast to warmer weather and the near end of another school year with tasty treats.

Pace Drama Alliance is gearing up to showcase Club Conspiracy, the play they’ve been working on over the past few months! Join Club Conspiracy. But don't worry, it's not actually an alien conspiracy club. It's a book club in disguise...that is, until it's members realize that the debate team may just be aliens trying to take over the world. Meet and Greet with Health Care Professionals

Curious about health care? Future Leaders in Health Care will be hosting this event for students to hear from and interact with speech pathologists, surgeons, physical therapists, physician assistants, medical doctors, registered nurses, and occupational therapists. They will discuss what it is like to get a degree, work in their environments, and share advice for how to get through school. Pizza will be served for those in attendance.
