Cause and the Pace Effect
Pace’s new crowdfunding site allows members of the Pace Community to support student causes that resonate with them.
On December 3, 2013, Pace’s Annual Giving team (housed within the Department of Development and Alumni Relations) launched The Pace Effect, a web-based crowdfunding portal through which Pace University’s student organizations, clubs, and teams can apply to raise funds for their highly specific needs or projects.
The launch coincided with Giving Tuesday. Scheduled annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, Giving Tuesday is a nationally recognized day-long effort to help charities raise funds.
Student organizations and groups set a goal amount at a minimum of $500 to a maximum of $2,500. The causes are featured on www.pace.edu/thepaceeffect for a minimum of 30 days and a maximum of 120 days. The student organization will receive all funds raised after the campaign closes. Current causes include the women’s soccer team, Beta Alpha Psi, Chemistry Day, Pace Model UN, the Entrepreneurship Lab, and others. These groups are working tirelessly to promote their campaigns with a view toward reaching their respective goals by March 1, 2014.
The Pace Effect gives you, the donor, an opportunity to support a cause that resonates with you. So many great things are happening at Pace and your gift will have an immediate effect on our students and their initiatives!
