Dream Team Does It Again
For the third year in a row, Pace’s Economics team placed first in the District and advanced to Nationals at the 2014 College Fed Challenge in Washington, D.C.
This year, the Economics team is staying hungry! On Friday, November 14, after making it to the semi-finals, the Pace team once again placed first in the District and advanced to Nationals at the 2014 College Fed Challenge, a team competition for undergraduate college students inspired by the work of the Federal Open Market Committee.
This is the third time in a row that Pace University has won the title of District winner, a feat which no other school has accomplished before. This time the team beat out Columbia and Rutgers in the finals and bested 30 more other colleges in the District.
This success is the result of the efforts by the team members and their advisers, Economics lecturer Mark Weinstock and Associate Professor of Economics Greg Colman, over the past six months.
The Dream Team is composed of all economics and business economics students and is led by co-captains Kelsey Berro ‘15 and Jordan Jhamb ‘15, with team members Julia Mikhailova ‘15, Daniella Gambino ‘16, and Katie Craig ’16. The team will compete at Nationals on December 2 in Washington, D.C., where they will meet with the Chair of Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System Janet Yellen.
Best of luck to the team at Nationals and stay tuned for more info in the coming weeks!
