Get Out and Do Good
Need some good karma or good juju in your life? Pace has two opportunities for you to brighten up someone else’s day with Pace Make a Difference Day and CCAR's Paint a School Day.
Pace students spent more than 52,000 hours participating in community service last year. And since actions speak louder than words, Pace has two opportunities for students to get out and do good in the surrounding community.
Paint a School Day (NYC and PLV)
Saturday, October 18 | 8:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
It’s time to put away the Candy Crush and pick up a paintbrush! On October 18, the Center for Community Action and Research (CCAR) wants you to join them in brightening up schools and children’s lives at the annual Paint a School Day, NYC’s largest hands-on volunteer day.
Volunteers will help refurbish a New York City school in need by helping to paint murals and classroom walls, clean up outdoor spaces like gardens and playgrounds, and other jobs to brighten up the learning environment and get it ready for the children to have a happy, healthy, productive year! This event will be co-sponsored with the Rotaract Club at Pace University. E-mail email@example.com for NYC and firstname.lastname@example.org for PLV to learn more or register.
Pace Make a Difference Day (Westchester)
Saturday, October 18 | 10:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. | Check-in at Willcox Hall
Roll up your sleeves to make an impact on the local community in PLV as part of the annual Pace Make a Difference Day. Check-in will be at 10:00 a.m., with an inspiring student speaker, followed by transportation to volunteer sites. Students can sign up as part of a team (class, student org, residence hall) or sign up as an individual to be placed with other individuals or with a team. Last year, more than 350 members of the Pace Community volunteered a total of 950 hours of service in just one day. Learn more here.
