Go PROgramming (PLV)
Week of Welcome was just the beginning. PLV’s Programming Board is keeping the events going with Escape the Room (City Sunday), Happy Hour with musician Nick Hagelin, and the Step UP! launch.
Step UP! Launch
Monday, February 2 | 12:20 p.m.–1:15 p.m. | Kessel Well
A comprehensive bystander intervention program that teaches strategies and techniques to intervene and make a difference, Step UP! is being used by athletics, Greek life, student affairs, and residential life around the country, including at Pace, where resident directors and resident assistants have already participated in training programs on sexual assault and alcohol/drug abuse on the Westchester Campus, with additional training to come. Find out how you can be more than a bystander and make a difference.
Happy Hour with Nick Hagelin
Thursday, February 5 | 8:00 p.m.–10:00 p.m. | Multipurpose Room, Kessel 2nd floor
Atlanta singer-songwriter, dancer, and producer Nick Hagelin will stop by Pace for an intimate performance as part of his 2015 City Lights Tour. His YouTube videos, including covers of Bruno Mars, Lil Wayne, Meghan Trainor, Taylor Swift, Sam Smith, and other top artists, have more than 1.5 million views, and his latest EP “City Lights” (Interscope Records) features collaborations with Jo Jo and Eric Benet.
City Sunday—Escape the Room
Sunday, February 8 | 12:00 p.m. | Meet at PLV train station
Join Programming Board in an attempt at one of New York City's hottest attractions and mystery puzzles—Escape the Room, a game where students will be challenged to think outside the box, in order to get out of it. Split between the Office and the Agency, participants need to figure out clues and earn their freedom out of the room. Students in the Office will be locked in their worst nightmare—stuck at work—where they will need to work together to find the key that opens the door for them to leave. In the Agency, students will be asked to use the clues provided to complete their top secret mission or be relieved from duty. This event is part of a City Sunday trip, so round-trip Metro North tickets will be provided. For more information or to register, click here.
Fifty Shades of Grey Movie Premiere
Friday, February 13 | 7:30 p.m.–11:30 p.m. | White Plains City Center Multiplex
Mr. Grey will see you now. You’ve been waiting for what seems like 50 shades of for-e-ver, but it’s finally here. Similar to what you may have felt, Anastasia Steele’s life changes forever when she meets Christian Grey. See the book come to life on screen this Valentine’s Day weekend. Lust is in the air. Buses leave BRC (Dow Hall) at 7:30 p.m. and PLV (North Hall) at 7:45 p.m. The film begins at 9:20 p.m.
