The only tricks here are the one’s up Mortola Library’s (book) sleeves as they prepare to host haunted readings and vampires as part of their Halloween celebration on October 29.
Mortola Library is awesome. We’re not saying that because of the abundance of teaching and learning resources and research and reference services, though that makes them awesome, too. And it’s not just that they bring puppies to the Library to help students de-stress around finals, but who can argue the awesome factor there. We’re talking about how into Halloween Mortola Library is getting this year—we’re talking haunted readings and vampires.
Vampires: From Page to Screen
Wednesday, October 29 | 12:15 p.m.–1:00 p.m.
Pace lecturer Kevin T. Czerwinski will talk about the popularity of vampires in literature and cinema—from Bram Stoker's unrepentant monster to the more romantic bloodsuckers of recent years. This lecture will include film clips.
Wednesday, October 29 | 6:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m.
The written word comes alive… Listen to haunted works of literature as students, faculty, and staff read (and act) out loud continuously starting at 6:00 p.m. in the Courtyard in front of the Mortola Library (weather permitting—alternative location inside the Library).
