Hoops for Hope (PLV)
The Women’s Basketball team will shoot for a breast cancer free world on Saturday, February 21, as they host their annual Play4Kay fundraiser.
Women’s Basketball is going pink on Saturday, February 21, for the annual Play4Kay fundraiser, a national initiative by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA), across all divisions of NCAA women's college basketball, to create awareness and raise money for breast cancer research.
The Setters will take on Adelphi University in a doubleheader with the women’s team tipping off at 1:30 p.m., followed by the men’s team at 3:30 p.m. at the Goldstein Fitness Center in PLV.
The fundraiser features Play4Kay t-shirts, available for $5 from Pace Athletics, with all proceeds supporting the Kay Yow Foundation. Twin Jewelers of Pleasantville will also be selling jewelry at the game for the sixth year in a row, and they are hoping to adorn one Setter with a little bling through their “Diamond in the Rough” promotion—one lucky fan will find a piece of pink jewelry under their seat.
And if that’s not enough, the doubleheader will celebrate senior Setters through senior day for both Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams, and will feature performances by the Cheer and Dance teams.
