Ice, Ice Skating
We can’t think of a better way to stay warm this holiday season than by lacing up our skates, sipping hot chocolate, and hitting the ice with friends for some outdoor skating at these nearby rinks.
The holiday season makes us feel warm and fuzzy inside, which comes in handy on the chilly ice for some magical, outdoor ice skating. Westchester’s got it all when it comes to gliding and sliding outside—from a winter wonderland to and handful of frozen lakes (if you’re brave enough)—and NYC, while it might be a concrete jungle, has plenty of places to try out your triple axel under the twinkling city lights. Lace up at the following outdoor rinks:
The Rink at Rockefeller Center │ Fifth Avenue, between 49th and 50th streets
Take a turn at the most iconic skating rink in NYC. Open until April, the Rink at Rockefeller Center boasts all the glitz and glam of the city with places to shop and dine around the rink. Bank of America Winter Village at Bryant Park │ Bryant Park, between fifth and sixth avenues and 40th and 42nd streets

LeFrak Center at Lakeside Prospect Park features a state-of-the-art rink that allows skaters to flow seamlessly between a covered rink and an open-air rink via an ice bridge. We told you; it’s awesome. And if you time your visit right, you may even catch a curling match on the ice. Click here for more information.
Winter Wonderland │ Kensico Dam Plaza at Park Drive W., Valhalla
Lace up those skates for an evening gliding under the clear stars at Westchester’s Winter Wonderland. Happening every evening through January 4, skating is only a portion of the magic happening at the Kensico Dam, so don’t forget to glide off the ice for food, lights, and shopping.
