CHP Professor Ellen Mandel DMH, PA-C, recently attended the "Creating Space VI" conference, a component of the Canadian Conference on Medical Education (CCME). The conference brought together medical and other healthcare educators to discuss and review the status of health, provision of care, and future concerns for the nationalized Canadian healthcare system.
Nurses go the extra mile for their patients, and Lienhard School of Nursing Professor Andrea Sonenberg, PhD, WHNP, CNM-BC, makes sure her students are no exception. For International Nurses Day, Sonenberg was among a select group invited to the Pan-American Health Organization (World Health Organization) to attend a meeting on "Transforming and Scaling Up Nursing Education in the Region of the Americas towards Universal Health” in Washington, DC.
CHP Professor Joanne Singleton, PhD, RN, received the prestigious Kenan Award for Teaching Excellence and was honored at Pace’s New York Commencement ceremony for her outstanding service and dedication to her students.

Elisabeth Haub School of Law Professor Margot Pollans, JD, and Associate Dean and Executive Director of Environmental Law Programs Jason J. Czarnecki, JD, served up their thoughts in a New York Times article about whether the FDA should allow the use of the word "natural" on food labels.
Lubin Professor Kam Chan, PhD, received an Emerald Literati Network Award for Excellence for his Outstanding Reviewer contribution to the Journal of Financial Regulation and Compliance—a scholarly publication rich in academic research and the practice of financial regulation.
Dyson Art Professor Roger Sayre opened his solo art exhibition “Sound and Vision” that will run through August 31 at Hamilton Square in Jersey City. Inspired by music, Sayre strikes a chord with art enthusiasts through two-dozen image-based works including a new series of lens-less photographs, as well as collages made up of illustrations clipped from dictionaries, cassette tapes, and found photographs.
Elisabeth Haub School of Law Dean David Yassky, JD, was profiled in Bloomberg Law and spoke on the Law School's name change, as well as the future of legal education.
Elisabeth Haub School of Law Professor Margot Pollans, JD, wrote an article for Slate about lapses in food labeling titled “The Labeling Shortcut.” Pollans advocates that the FDA should spend less time worrying about labels and more time better regulating the entire industry.
Environmental Author-in-Residence Paul Greenberg and Associate Dean and Executive Director of Environmental Law Programs Jason J. Czarnezki, JD, wrote an op-ed in Time called "It's Time for the FDA to Define 'Natural'.” The duo discussed how US corporations sell tens of billions of dollars’ worth of food products labeled as “natural,” despite not having a formal definition of the word issued by the FDA.
Dyson Professor and Chair of the MA in Management for Public Safety and Homeland Security Professionals Joseph Ryan, PhD, was quoted in Homeland Security Today about security concerns surrounding the 2016 Summer Olympic Games that will kick off on August 5 in Rio de Janeiro.
