No Sleep Til a Cure (PLV)
One in three people will be diagnosed with cancer during their lifetime. The journey to end this starts with a single step. On April 25, take that step and celebrate, remember, and fight back against cancer as Pace hosts the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life in PLV.
Dream Big. Hope Big. Relay BIG.
Join Pace in making this cancer’s last century. On April 25–26, join the fight against cancer as Pace’s Colleges Against Cancer hosts Relay for Life from 4:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. in the Goldstein Fitness Center in PLV. The American Cancer Society’s signature event, Relay for Life is a fun-filled, overnight event that brings people together to raise money to fight cancer.
So far, more than 350 students, faculty, and staff have registered and raised more than $11,000 for Relay.
More than just a walk around a track, Relay for Life brings the community together for a night of activities, food, entertainment, and games sponsored by student organizations and Greek Life, including an Around the World with Mr. and Mrs. Relay, an event where ladies dress up like guys and men dress up like women from midnight until 1:00 a.m. to raise money for teams. A Survivors and Caregivers Lap will celebrate the victories we’ve achieved over cancer and an emotional Luminaria Ceremony will pay tribute to those affected by cancer with a bright glow of hope that lights up the night.
Join more than 4 million people from more than 20 countries to celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against a disease that touches too many lives. So far, the Relay for Life movement has raised more than $5 billion to fight cancer. In fact, in 2012, Relay for Life ranked as the largest community-focused event in the world, raising more than $407 million.
Make a difference today by joining a team, stopping by to support the Pace Community, or simply making a donation. Together, we’re creating a world with more birthdays!
Also coming up on Monday, April 21, Colleges Against Cancer-PLV will host Relay door prizes, a fundraiser with basket prizes including a Kindle Fire HD, Beats Pill, and a lottery tree. Stop by the Gottesman Room from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. to win. Small prizes are $1; large prizes are $5. Proceeds go to Relay for Life!
