New York Theatre Ballet presents Cinderella
Sunday, September 20 at 3:00 p.m.
A perennial favorite of New York Theatre Ballet (NYTB) audiences across America, Cinderella and her pumpkin-turned-carriage are rolling into the Schimmel. A dancing clock, two wacky stepsisters, and everyone’s favorite rags to riches princess are all part of this enchanting story with choreography by Donald Mahler; set design by Gillian Bradshaw-Smith; and costumes by Resident Costume Designer of the Metropolitan Opera, Sylvia Taalson Nolan.
Gaspard and Dancers
Friday and Saturday, September 25 and 26 at 7:30 p.m.
Haitian-born Gaspard Louis rose to prominence as a dancer and choreographer with the internationally renowned Pilobolus Dance Theatre. His work has been praised for breathtaking combinations of Pilobolean shape building and fluid lyricism that resonate in the emotional core of human nature. In five seasons with Durham-based Gaspard & Dancers, Louis has built a distinct and deeply moving body of work. The Trilogy—“L’Esprit,” “Souke,” and “Annatations”—is his response to the devastating 2010 earthquake and its aftermath. Sponsored by the SHS Foundation and by the Haiti Cultural Exchange.
All Pace students have access to every single exciting happening at the Schimmel, at a massive discount of only $10 per show. For more, visit http://schimmel.pace.edu or check back here each week for additional info on Schimmel events.
