#PaceU at the People’s Climate March

News Story

To change everything, we need everyone. On September 21, the largest climate march in history will come to NYC and the Pace Academy and CCAR invite you to join them.

This is your invitation to change everything.

This month, world leaders are coming to New York City for a UN summit on the climate crisis. UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon is urging governments to support an ambitious global agreement to dramatically reduce global warming pollution. With our future on the line and the whole world watching, we’ll take a stand to bend the course of history. We’ll take to the streets to demand the world we know is within our reach: a world with an economy that works for people and the planet; a world safe from the ravages of climate change; a world with good jobs, clean air and water, and healthy communities. Pace will join the People’s Climate March on September 21.

Get Involved
Join the Center for Community Action and Research and Pace Academy for Applied Environmental Studies for pre-march events on both campuses, and walk with us on September 21 at the march in NYC.

Walk, chant, sing, dance in the largest climate march in history with your Pace family as the CCAR and Pace Academy will bring together students from both Pace campuses to participate in the People’s Climate March in NYC, a showing of support for UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon’s global agreement to dramatically reduce global warming pollution at September’s UN summit on the climate crisis. E-mail ccarny@pace.edu (NYC) or ccarplv@pace.edu (PLV) to learn more and sign up. Transportation will be provided from the Westchester Campus, but you must RSVP by September 19. Students in PLV will meet at Willcox circle at 8:20 a.m. and Pace NYC students will meet in front of One Pace Plaza at 9:15 a.m. on September 21.

In addition, for the 2014–2015 academic year, the Pace Academy will engage the community through the Generation Energy Campaign. The Gen En Campaign is about the pillars of our energy future. Launched by the Pace Academy for Environmental Studies, it will spend the year examining energy as we know it today—and how to make our lives simpler, our travels swifter, and our technology smarter.

We are Gen En because our time is now. We focus on energy because it is both our challenge and our opportunity; environment because real-world solutions take into account sustainability and well-being; entrepreneurship because we cannot create an energy future with an antiquated portfolio; and engagement because powering the future necessitates a global community of citizens taking part.
