Run Breast Cancer Out of Town
It's almost time to lace up your shoes and Race for the Cure. Join the Pace team and kick breast cancer to the curb on September 7.
In 2014, it is estimated that there will be more than a quarter of a million new cases of breast cancer and 40,000 deaths in the U.S. alone. On September 7, step out with the Pace Community as we run for life at the Susan G. Komen Greater NYC: Race for the Cure in Central Park.
Since 1990, Komen Greater NYC has raised approximately $60 million and awarded $43 million in grants to local breast health programs for underserved and at-risk women, as well as invested in cutting-edge research to find the cures.
Last year, with more than 110 participants, the Pace team once again won for the largest university or college team. And we want to keep this streak going!
So what are you waiting for? Registration is $40 and you can register online by going to www.komennyc.org/race and searching for the “Pace University” team by August 31.
Participants will receive:
> A Race for the Cure t-shirt
> Goody bag
> Transportation from the Westchester Campus to Central Park
Proceeds will benefit the Greater New York City affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, which supports local hospitals and national foundations for research.
Out of town that weekend? Can’t make the race? You can still make a difference. Back by popular demand—Sleep for the Cure! Register for the race and then spend your Sunday morning sleeping in. Participants can also run or walk.
