Snakebit By Friendship

News Story

The New York Times called Snakebit “the intimate sort of Off-Broadway experience that has you picking apart the recognizable characters long after the curtain calls.” See it before the curtain closes on Saturday, October 14!

Written by David Masrhall Grant and directed by Christopher J. Hanke, this newly realized play is a study in friendship when put to the test. Snakebit centers around Jonathan and his wife, Jenifer, while they visit their oldest friend, Michael, at his home in LA. Jonathan is an actor who auditions for a film called Mortal Fusion, but when he drags Jenifer to LA with him for support, she is preoccupied by the illness of their daughter who was left at home in NYC with a babysitter. Michael is distracted as well after his boyfriend leaves him.

At first, the focus is on the universal questions we all face at one point or another: specifically, self-doubt and our selfish need for support. With the arrival of a guest, the play takes a deeper look at how ugly we can become when too preoccupied with ourselves to remember the people around us—especially our loved ones.
