Pilates. Self-defense. Yoga. For the next three months, spend an hour and a half each Wednesday doing you.

PILATES
Wednesdays, February 11, 18, 25 | 12:00 p.m.–1:30 p.m. | Reading Room, Student Union | NYC
Sculpt a lean physique through classical pilates exercises on the mat. Performed barefoot or in socks, each pilates move will help strengthen your core and improve posture, flexibility, and stability. Your instructor Samone Weissman, a certified comprehensive pilates instructor, will take you through flexion, extension, stability, and mobility exercises, as well as full-body stretches. Please make sure to wear loose, comfortable clothing.

SELF-DEFENSE
Wednesdays, March 4, 11, 18, 25 | 12:00 p.m.–1:30 p.m. | Reading Room, Student Union | NYC
A woman’s quick guide to self-defense. Sessions include You’ve Got Rights on March 4, where you’ll learn how to self-defend yourself; Street Smarts on March 11 for self-defense against strangers; Friends Not Friends on March 18 for self-defense against non-strangers; and You Got This! on March 25, where you’ll learn favorite self-defense moves. Instructor Nívea Castro is a black belt instructor with more than 30 years of martial arts and practical self-defense teaching experience.

YOGA
Wednesdays, April 1, 8, 15, 29 | 12:00 p.m.–1:30 p.m. | Reading Room, Student Union | NYC
Yin Yang Yoga! This class combines the Yin and Yang elements of hatha yoga practice. Multiple postures of healing (slow, steady, long-held postures with a physical focus on nourishing and lubricating the joints, ligaments, and organs of the body) are balanced with a more active Yang practice (mobile asanas that build heat, activate deep breathing, develop flexibility and maintain core strength.) Instructor Bhairavi Andrea Downes is a certified yoga instructor, registered through the Yoga Alliance.
